Default Fox's Hell's Kitchen

Last year when season one of Hell’s Kitchen was on air I thought Chef Ramsay was an arrogant prick. I think I watched 2 episodes and decided it wasn’t worth my time. Then right before I left home, for the deployment I am on, I found a tape with almost the entire season on it. I watched the season finale and decided to go back and watch the whole season. I kind of got hooked. I still disagree with some of Ramsay’s practices but it must work for him.

Now I’m looking forward to Season Two which starts on June 12th. Hopefully I can find it on satellite over here, if not I’ll have to have someone from back home send it to me.

Did you watch the series? What did you think of it?

I watched it on the Food Network. I also think Ramsay, even though famous, is going about the wrong way of 'teaching'. I know it's not fair for me to judge him as I'm not a chef or a celebrity chef like him, but what he is doing just doesn't work as well as positive reinforcement (you can be strict still...). Ask any psychologist or teacher.

That said, the network executives obviously chose Ramsey for the ratings.

I'd have liked the series better if they didn't focus on running a restaurant so much (why does waiting on tables have anything to do with being a chef?). It should be solely on cooking, IMHO.

I also can't believe how Ramsay treats his 'guests'. He'll just scream at them and curse them to death.. I'm sorry but his business practices are ludicrous.

That is probably what bothered me the most. Although I did laugh a few times when he put over demanding customers in their place.

Yeah, would almost be fine if he limited it to really annoying customers, but the fact is he doesn't..

Also remember that people were usually complaining about either getting the wrong meal or something cooked incorrectly or else about waiting for 90 minutes for their meal...

I dont watch the Food Network much these days, except for pastry challenges. But I do watch TOP CHEF on Bravo. I hates you, Tiffani!

Do you ever make any of the things you see on the cooking or baking shows?
