  • How Do You Celebrate New Year's Eve?

Do you prefer to go out somewhere or would you rather stay in and have a house party? We normally stay at home and invite people over. We have a pot luck party almost every year. What do you do?

In recent years, we haven't really done anything for New Year's Eve. It's always very quiet and sedate, and that's fine by us! Better to be off the roads on New Year's Even anyway.

We don't head out to party it up anymore, we are past that stage in our lives right now plus I despise traveling when I know a bunch of drunk people are going to be on the roads. We still do a nice dinner and party a little (light) but the only rule is that if you drink in our house, you turn the keys over and bring pajamas to sleep in.

We go out to dinner every year. After dinner we head to a family members house for the night. We play games and just have fun. I don't like being out and about because there are too many drunks on the road.

My husband and I prefer to stay home. We don't entertain , nor do I prepare anything special to eat. Perhaps this year we'll have Spaghetti and Meatballs, or some sort of Lasagna, along with a non-alcoholic wine.

Raizin, I like your idea of a pot luck party!

Actually, SilverSage, that one sounds kind of interesting. I might look into getting that book.

But I have not made any plans yet for New Year's yet. I was invited over to a friend's house, but not sure if I'm going over though.

In new year eve I generally watch some movies with my family and go for a long drive with them.

But last year due to my examinations i was not able to celebrate new year in that way.

I celebrate it any way I please. LOL. Last year, I just stayed home and stayed up on my PC 'til after midnight.

Hi all, I'm keen to get into ice cream making and wondering if anyone has any experience with the different machines.

                                I've found this guide...

Has anyone got a good recipe for potato soup please? Alternatively suggest what to do with some wrinkly old potatoes which have grown roots already?...
