  • Coconut Oil Chocolate Bars

    *This is not my recipe.*
I tried this recipe out and it came out good.
I got permission to post this.

    It's just 5 simple ingredients
*Note: this doesn't taste even slightly like coconut when done*

    Coconut Oil Chocolate Bars

    Ingredients

    2/3 cup cocoa powder
2/3 cup coconut oil – Where to buy coconut oil
1/3 cup + 1 tablespoon honey, maple syrup or simple syrup – Where to buy natural sweeteners
    1/2 teaspoon vanilla
    pinch of salt

Heat coconut oil in a small saucepan over low heat. Once it melts add the remaining ingredients. Stir and pour mix over a parchment paper lined cookie sheet. Place cookie sheet in refrigerator for 2-4 hours, or until it is set. Once the chocolate hardens, break it up into pieces. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

This looks good but I'd still prefer a healthy commercial candy bar.

Huh! I never guessed making your own chocolate would be this simple. I wonder how this would do with bits of dried mango and coconut flakes. I love tropical flavors, and this might be a fun and easy way to make chocolate bars for Christmas.
