And the winner to be the Next Food Network Star is;.......... Aaron McCargo Jr.!!! Yaaaaaaay!!!

I wanted him to win!! He's gone through some very rough, tough and grueling competition over the last several weeks to get to where he is now! I've seen him sweating bullets, working hard and crying at the same time, while saying that he's trying to reconcile with his oldest son who has run away from home, hoping that he'll win the contest to make his son proud of him! I truly hope that his son has returned home!!

He's the very first Afro-American to go all the way to the finals AND WIN!!! Two years ago, Reggie Southerland, also an Afro-American, made it to the finals, but sadly and unfortunately, he didn't win. I wanted him to win, but Guy Fereri beat him out.

Aaron is also the first Afro-American to singlely have his own cooking show since Curtis Atkins had his own show back when the Food Network had its humble beginnings!!

Aaron McCargo Jr. brings a whole new style of cooking to the network all his own! As an excecutive chef at a local hospital in his hometown of Camden, New Jersey, he has the experience, and has a deep passion for culinary cuisine. He's been cooking at home since he was only 8, and he's been cooking professionally since he was only 13!!

As a family man, lovingly devoted husband and loyal father of three children, he LOVES to show off his masterful culinary experience and expertise in the kitchen, making exciting, but healthy meals for his wife and the kids. A very phenomenal and versatile person, he also mentors and helps young teens learn the trade and passion that he himself, grew up learning! He takes time out to mentor some of his hometown's youth and help them learn culinary arts in odrer to help keep them out of trouble and off the mean streets and be a role model for them and helps them try to set their goals for the future!!

He likes to cook soul food, but in a much different style and flair of the cuisine. As he says, he's bringing bold new flavors and tastes to his new show, set to air next week. Watch for the debut of his new show, which he likes to and has chosen to call Big Daddy's House - to premeir this coming Sunday around 13:30!!
