Hey im new here and im liking it!
I love cooking and am interested in the subject of cooking meals for groups of people. What meals do you think work best - by which i mean are easy to prepare and cook for a large amount of people.. say 10 or so if you want a number. I've started my own site on the subject so please check it out, i will be updating it with new recipes and tips as i find it out! Cooking for a crowd (http://www.cookingforacrowd.co.uk) is the name of my site.

Randy, there are many things you can make for 10 people. it really depends on what way you want to take it. if you want casual, there is family style meals such as a good spaghetti, make a kickin sauce, and top it with parm cheese and a sharp cheddar, a good fresh homemade garlic bread.

Pot roast, potatoes, and homemade gravy and fresh cooked green beans, with onion and bacon.

a stuffed glazed meatloaf: Stuffed with mashed potatoes, Swiss cheese, and a vegetable, fresh baby spinach, peas, corn etc. Glazed with a mixture of ketchup, brown sugar and dry mustard.

Marinated Grilled Flank Steak, grilled to medium and thinly sliced, served with horseradish sauce, streak sauce etc. and a great pasta side dish with fresh sauteed or steamed Asparagus.

Beer Can or Drunken Chicken (make 3) I like to stuff my can with fresh rosemary, sage, thyme, onin and garlic. Then on the chicken I like to rinse it pat it dry, douse it with olive oil, and liberally cover inside and out with my seasoning blend then plug the neck hole with a chunk of onion. Pop it in the oven at 400 for the first 30 minutes then turn it down to 350 to 375 for the next 1-1 1/2 hours. Serve with some grilled or roasted potatoes, and any vegetable will go with this. one my family's favorites is a mix of asparagus, green beans, and mushrooms, sauteed in butter, salt pepper and thyme.

Shrimp I love to saute shrimp for crowds for starters, I saute them with garlic, onion, salt pepper, and some Citrus Grill Seasoning blend. then just at the end of cooking time a splash of good dry white wine.

Pork tenderloin is another good one that is easy. marinate it overnight in Yoshida's Original Gourmet Sauce. then remove from the marinade and nuke for 1 1/2 minutes then straight onto the grill. DO NOT OVER COOK. and this will burn easily so stay with it. it will cook fast. Slice thin and serve with rice pasta or roasted potatoes and a nice veggie. some great mustards will go great with your pork too.

another good one would be an oven fried chicken. Marinate the chicken overnight in butter milk. then take it out of the marinade season with onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and paprika. to bread them in bowl number 1 mix eggs with almost an equal amount of Hot sauce (I use Louisiana but it doesn't matter. I would not use tabasco as it has just a bit too much vineagar flavor) anyway. in bowl number 2 mix 2 cups flour with 1 1/4 cups corn meal. season this mixture with 2 teaspoons onion powder, 2 teaspoons garlic powder, 2 teaspoon salt, 1 1/2 teaspoons black pepper, and 1/2 to 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper.
Now to bread the chicken dip into the dry flour mixture, shake off or patt off the excess flour. dip into egg mixture and then back into the flour mixture then onto your baking dish (I like to use a 1/2 sheet pan with a cake cooling rack on top. I lay the chicken on that so that the fats will render off and the chicken will not be soaking in it in the pan. before you bake the chicken, let it set on the baking pan for about 15 minutes. then into the oven at 425 for 35 to 40 minutes. it will be wonderful.
