I'll pass on it also. Been there, done that.

And here's the kicker;

I DIDN'T get the job that I was supposed to get.

Went into a culinary arts training progam through one of those job centers that are supposed to help. Took a 5-month training course, completed the program, was given a certificate saying so. Also studied, completed and passed the test for ServeSafe certification.

But toward the end of the program, we were practically being pushed out the door and I was told to take ANYTHING regardless of the pay or the job!!

Long story short, I didn't even get the job that I was supposed to get which was supposed to be a cook's job!! Ended up with a lousy slavery slave-driving job washing goddamn dishes!!! Making slavery wages!!! How sad, demeaning, disrespectful and distasteful is that?!!

Later, went to look for a cook's job, but NO ONE would hire me!! Went to over tree dozen places and filed applicatins there. They were all playing games!

Meanwhile, I was forced to struggle with living off of only a small pension - $540.00 a month and couldn't even pay the rent, much less anything else, and during all that, I became stricken with CHF!!

Applied for disability and got it. If not for that, I'd still be suffering from extreme financial hardship even today!!

Bottom line is; Those programs don't mean diddlysquat if you can't get a job in the field and they refuse to try to help you get employeed for what you were trained for!!! They are so full of crap!!!:mad:

The job that I have now is a volunteer job tutoring and mentoring small young children, which I like very much!! It helps me give back to the community what I've learned years ago when I was a kid! They like it and they LOVE me as well, especially one little boy who thinks the world of me!!!;)

Working with the kids is 10 times better than having some mean & nasty manager breathing down your back and yelling and screaming at you because he doesn't think that you're doing the slavery work of getting goddamn dishes washed fast enough!!

I will NEVER work for anyone else like that ever again!! I'm so done with being treated that way!!:mad:

I just miss the kids now because they are all off for the summer.:(

But I'll be back in the fall to work with them again, mainly my little buddy!!:)
