View Full Version : Favorite Sandwich
This is inspired by the Helman's commercial, at least I think it was that, where people gave their favorite sandwiches.
Personally, I love the BLT, with extra mayo and ketchup, plus extra salt and pepper, with green peppers, on wheat bread.
What's yours?

Well sandwich has always been a word I don't really like. Nonetheless I do like sandwiches. My favourite place to buy them is Subway. I usually get the chicken teriyaki, on itallian herb and cheese bread.

Either a toasted ruobon, tukey with pesto-mayo, or a flufflinater (pb and marshmallow fluff). Or a good grilled cheese (NOT with American).

Hello!
Grilled chicken salad or turkey salad or tuna salad sandwich:
Take some cooked chicken or turkey and chop it up. Add some finely chopped celery and onions and Ms Dash. Add mayo. I sometimes Ranch Dressing - just enough mayo and dressing to hold the ingredients together.
Then I butter a slice of Sour Dough bread, put the salad on the unbuttered side, place buttered side down on a hot pancake grill, then top with another slide of bread with the outside also buttered. Toast until bread is well browned on both sides. Cut in half and serve hot with a glass of milk.
I’ve also used Tuna Salad (with chopped hard boiled egg added but otherwise mixed as per above) and grilled it too. My husband likes these sandwiches too - but not Tuna.

NOT with American, I agree !!! I have to admit that good bread and good cheese are two of my major downfalls. On a chilly winter day I will make two loaves of my best dark rye or pumpernickle bread, a little soup, and to heck with the cold. Here is one of my favorites and quick:
Pimento Cheese Sandwich
Makes 2 sandwiches
Ingredients
4 oz. extra-sharp Vermont white or yellow cheddar (1½ cups)
1.5 oz pimento - drained, finely chopped (¼ cup)
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
½ teaspoon hot pepper sauce
Salt to taste
4 slices of good whole-wheat bread
4 thin slices Vidalia or other sweet onion (optional)
1 cup watercress sprigs - tough stems discarded (optional)
Preparation
Mash cheese pimento, mayonnaise and hot pepper sauce in small bowl with a fork until well combined. Season with salt to taste. Cover and chill 1 hour for flavors to blend. Spread pimento cheese evenly on bread. Top with onions and watercress sprigs (optional). Cut each sandwich and serve.

I also love plain grilled cheese sandwiches. Fried eggs on some chedar cheese and mutigrain toast is also lovely.
