Basically, GI (glycaemic index) is the measure of the speed that food converted into glucose in our body. High Gi foods like white bread, potatoes, watermelon and rice cakes are converted into glucose quickly.
Low GI foods such as granary bread, oats, grains, vegetables, nuts and pulses as well as protein from meat and fish are converted into glucose much more slowly so we feel fuller for longer and not snack between meals.

I tried the South Beach Diet, which is a diet that works to control your GI... and I really liked it. I learned a lot about how I eat and the way that my body processes food. For instance, I learned that my body doesn't process carbs well, and that eating, say, a piece of toast for breakfast would make me hungry and snacky all day. Whereas if I have a plain yogurt and some nuts, I'm fine for hours, and crave healthier foods. It's actually amazing.

So, yeah, I guess I agree-- low GI diets really work, and are really good for you!

I would agree that GI diets work. They are based on the way your body processes food, and I think it helps you stay longer faster with less food. I would give it a try
