Oatmeal (not the instant stuff).

In my opinion, the most healthy breakfast would be a complete breakfast. There should be carbohydrates, viand, fruits and drinks. Breakfast should be a fully-loaded meal because as we all know breakfast is the fuel for the day. Omelets with vegies are really healthy and fruits are a great way to start a day. :D

I think basil leaf is right on. I think the best things to have for breakfast are lean proteins, such as eggs or egg whites, canadian bacon, and lean ham, along with plenty of veggies or fruit. And drink some fat free milk and some green tea-- they're wonderful for you!
That said, I eat junk for breakfast much more often than I should!

Anything that does NOT involve cream cheese.
Research indicates: people that consume grain-based food (wheat bread, oatmail, etc.) for breakfast tend to have a lower glycemic index than egg/bacon lovers.
However, eggs are extremely healthy (egg white protein alone has a 98% protein absorption). I suggest buying nitrate free bacon (http://www.chowhound.com/topics/376177), preferably turkey over pork (it's leaner).
What the research doesn't cover is that people with a high GI tend to have poor eating habits compared to those with low GI; they don't have high GI because they eat scrambled eggs for breakfast, but moreso because they like greasy foods like bacon and wouldn't consider eating grain products like whole wheat. High GI people tend to substitute white bread for wheat bread.

I don't take breakfast at all but I suppose some toast, eggs and coffee would be fine. Just don't overeat and take everything in moderationm.

For me porridge oats with fruit and a glass of fruit juice is the healthiest breakfast. I find oats gentler on my digestion than other grains and they help to keep my cholesterol at a safe level. There is semi skimmed milk in the porridge and in moderation that is also good for me. The fruit juice is healthy and refreshing and the portion of fruit starts me on my way to my five a day target. I enjoy my breakfast and I find it keeps me feeling satisfied until lunchtime so I am less likely to snack.

Issue: I'm taking up the vegan lifestyle. Nonetheless, I love cereal or muesli in the morning. Soy milk being hard to find nearby, I'd like to know if there are some decent replacements for regular milk in the breakfast bowl of cereals. Thanks!
I think cereals are the best to eat at breakfast. They are healthy and they keep hunger away for some good long hours.
I sometimes make exceptions and eat eggs and bacon, but usually i eat cereals.
Of course, a glass of milk is never absent :D

Cereals are good, but stay away from those high fructose corn syrup loaded cereals, especially kids. They basically set you up for the mid-morning slump and can possibly do more harm than good. Try to find a high-grain and high-fiber cereal that you enjoy.

Hi,
A healthy breakfast is a must since its the first meal of the day and is taken after a long break in the night.
If your day starts very early I suggest that you divide your breakfast into two servings. First could be cereals, muesli, porridge, oatmeal, or something from the same family, should be eaten after your morning exercise/jog.
The other serving could just before you leave for work, that could be of a toast with eggs, ham, sausages with some veggies and a glass of milk or fresh juice.
If it is not possible to eat twice, you can choose any of these options.
Regards,
Minal

Soy milk being hard to find nearby, Amazingly enough, Amazon.com sells soy milk. They also sell rice milk, another alternative. I myself prefer regular milk, but when I was in Afghanistan Soy milk was acceptable for cereal.
As for breakfast, I always just have a smoothie, since I workout in the morning. Probably not the healthiest option but its fairly decent.

Cereal, oatmill are the best options. Fibrous food is healthy - and a must for health breakfast.

I don't like egg, cereals are the best to eat during breakfast. I'm eating oatmeal every morning and it helps me in maintaining my diet and keeping my body slim.

Oatmeal with bananas and apples and non-fat milk makes a great breakfast, especially if you are trying to lose weight. Oatmeal is high in fiber and as it absorbs a lot of liquid it makes you feel fuller. It’s one of the most effective fat and calorie burning foods you can get, and non-fat milk (in fact, all calcium-rich foods) and the mentioned fruits are also great fat and calorie burners that will help you to lose weight. So, if you have them all combined for your breakfast, you have already done a lot. Eat your breakfast slowly, that’s good for your digestive system. The good thing about eating slowly is that you are very unlikely to eat too much. You need about 15 to 20 minutes to notice that you had enough food, and if you wolf down great amounts of food within just 10 minutes you might have eaten far too much already by that time. If you start eating slowly in the morning already it’s also a good exercise to continue doing that through the whole day.
Hope that helps you!:)

As far as I know eating any breakfast is healthier than skipping it.
That said, I think the healthier breakfasts are low or no-sugar cereals (hot or cold) and I like fruit with yogurt. Including orange juice is a good Vitamin C boost as well.
As a devoted breakfast eater I eat all different kinds of things in the morning, sometimes healthy, sometimes not so healthy.

Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper

hi dears,i am angel here:).Studies show that children who eat breakfast do better in school. It doesn't take much further thought to realize adults will feel better and perform better at work as well. Whether you work at home, on the farm, at the office, at school, or on the road, it is not a good idea to skip breakfast. Eating a good breakfast sets the tone for the rest of the day.When you skip breakfast, you are likely to become tired when your brain and body run low on fuel. By mid-morning, you might grab a cup of coffee or wolf down a sugary candy bar to wake up again. This might work for a few minutes, but by lunch time you are hungry, crabby, and perhaps your mood might make you a little more prone to make unhealthy choices at lunch.

So true what you say, dan!
It's definitely worth to read the label before buying something. I usually buy an energy cereal which is low in fat, high in fiber and cholesterol free, and it really does its job. 3 tbsp. with a small bowl of milk keep me going for about 5 hours. I would need a whole bowl packed with cornflakes to get the same effect. But I still find that it contains quite a high amount of sugar. For someone who really has to worry about calories that would be a problem. Even check whole wheat products if there is sugar in. According to the FDA, more than 15 g sugar per 100 g serving is considered high sugar content, less than 5 g per 100 g low. Also try to rather buy a "plain" cereal and not a mixture as these are often high in calories.
If you like it sweet, then add some fruit to your high-fiber cereals, preferably fresh fruit. It will give you additional fiber and lots of vitamins. Dried fruit is also great but remember it contains more sugar than the same amount of fresh fruit: They are smaller because they lost water, meaning the nutrients are packed more densely. So you will need much less. Don't substitute a handful of grapes with a handful of raisins.
Enjoy your healthy breakfast!

I don't believe there is one best breakfast. There are just too many variables including one's age, gender, health, geographic location, genetic history, time of year, type of work you do, etc.
I don't think science holds the answer to what's best for breakfast because "it depends!"
Sometimes I enjoy a bowl of oatmeal, other times toast and peanut butter or yogurt with fruit. I also enjoy eggs several times a week.
I would say to slow down and tune in and ask your body what it wants and notice what it guides you to do.
Sorry if this sounds too "out there" but after lots of study and more than a decade of dedicated yoga practice, I've come to trust my body, rather than all the "experts."

I totally agree. When I was writing an article about healthy eating during the day lately, this thought just crossed my mind: Since you haven't eaten anything since last night's supper, where do you want to take the energy from to survive the day if you don't have breakfast?
If you do have breakfast, then you'll be fine. But if you don't, sooner or later you'll become VERY HUNGRY, and then you are either going to eat sweet stuff to quickly get a sugar boost, or eat way more food then you actually need, or even worse: you do both (speaking out of personal experience). That's definitely not healthy, so having breakfast is very healthy for a good start in the day.

I think breakfast is very important meal of the day because you are starting your day with that and if we have a good breakfast it will help us to keep the good energy to work.

The MOSTIMPORTANT one.
Independant test surveys have shown that if a child or adult misses breakfast, then the child or adult is more likely to pig out for lunch and end up eating too much, which might lead to eventual weight gain and obesity over time.
Especially if the child or adult dines at a fast-food place like BK or MD's for lunch!

Breakfast is the most important meal in the day for several reasons:
1 - You have nothing in your stomach for about 8 hours (we wish....);
2 - Most of what you will eat will be burned after a day-long work;
3 - It provides energy for you to be able to start the day fresh.
So, unless you practice hardcore sports in the morning, I would recommend a complete and varied breakfast that would include:
1 - 1 bread, preferably dark, with cheese and ham;
2 - 1 cup of milk with coffee, chocolate or barley OR 1 yogurt;
2 - 1 piece of fruit.
This way, you will have eaten carbs, proteins, vitamins, minerals... all you need to start the day!!

Also, a glass of freshly-made cold carrot juice is good with breakfast on occasion.
It helps provide betacaretine, a neccesary nutrient and is good for the eyes. it is natually sweet as well, because carrots normally have sugars.
