I really like her. Fresh ideas, etc. I think what you see on tv is really her. I bet it would be hard to live with that "always bubbley" personality but I do like the way she cooks and presents her ideas.

I have her cookbook Just In Time.
I only saw a few recipes I wanted to try.

I love her. She just seems to enjoy what she does and cooking for her is effortless.

I so want to buy her book!! How is it??

Just about every recipe requires alot of fresh basil in the Just In Time book.
I cannot get any fresh herbs other than parsley and cilantro in my small hometown. So I am waiting for the pots of basil I have on the balcony to produce enough for me to try some recipes from the book.

I love Rachel's recipes, but find Rachel herself a little annoying. Am I the only one? I have three of her cookbooks, but can't stand to watch her show for more than a few minutes. She gets on my nerves a bit. :P

Her cheerleader on speed routine gets on my nerves as well.

Even though Rachael's a little "over the top" sometimes, I think she's genuine and real. And I love her recipes! For the most part they're easy and quick, and very yummy. A few of my favorites... turkey burgers, spinach/artichoke tortellini, fried ravioli, italian casseroles, etc. (These aren't the exact names) But here are a few links of some great R. R. recipes...

(Check out the videos too)

Also...
Twist-a-Ronis (http://www.rachaelrayshow.com/food/recipes/twist-a-ronis/)

Also, nothing to do with R.R, but so good! I've got an awesome recipe for a frozen pie (I got from a "Jello" cookbook). Basically it's got a graham cracker crust, and you just mix together jello pudding (follow directions on box), whichever flavor, and cool whip, along with some crushed cookies, or choc chips, or whatever. You mix that together (pudding, whip cream, and whatever extra ingredient) and pour into g. cracker crust. Freeze at least 6 hours. So EASY! Just take out of freezer to soften slightly for 10-15 minutes before you plan to eat it! And you can modify it however you want, using chocolate pudding, or butterscotch with skor bits or whatever! Get creative!:)

Here's a great product to check out (warning - LOTS of recipes!!)
The Ultimate Recipe Collection - Over 4600 recipes! Only $19 (https://paydotcom.com/r/6304/tracylane45/3450392/)

Oh, back to Rachael Ray, I've got two of her books... 2,4,6,8 and Express Lane Meals, both awesome, especially Express Lane Meals - for so many reasons I can't get into, cuz my baby just started waking up! Take care!

Happy Cooking everyone!

Please stop pimping products here. You are paid by Kraft to do this and it is very annoying and unwelcome. You have been asked not to do it, yet you carry on.

Regarding Rachael Ray, I think her approach to cooking is a good one. Certainly better than using processed foods to make a quick meal.

But I think she is incredibly overexposed these days. To the point of annoyance.

I'm not speaking to Rachel Ray anymore. She broke my heart. Learn how in this tearful account.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds Rachel a little annoying! She's very sweet and perky, so I feel a little guilty for being so easily annoyed. That said, I really DO like her recipes and her approach to cooking. I just think she needs to chill. :P

Personally I find her very annoying and phony. I am no fan of her and find her perkiness very fake. I have stopped watching her shows for quite sometime and never miss it.

I have to say that her TV personality is getting a bit old for me, but I do remember that it is part of what made her famous today, and if she was to change that and become demure, everyone would be throwin a fit again, "what's wrong with her?" etc. and she may lose her job. So as annoying as it might seem to us that have watch her for... How many years now? the people that are new to watching are just as enamoured with her as we once were at least for a time.

But we all have to agree: you can learn something about cooking from her, and the recipes I have tried of hers are pretty darn good!

I love Rachael Ray. Not only is she a great cook with great ideas for meals, she has her own line of cutlery, and cookware. She has to be the most busy celebrity host on the food network.

Always upbeat and smiling, just a joy to watch on tv. I have seen almost all of the 30 minute meal shows. I also think she is quite beautiful.

I am looking forward to many more shows. Keep up the hard work!

guyin248, I like Rachael too. she is a good cook. her recipes are easy to follow and use ingredients that you you will have most of in your kitchen.

I have made several of her dishes most I have changed just slightly to make them to my taste. But her fair is something that suits the home cook. and is not so fanciful that you can't cook it for everyday, but is also very impressive. Especially in flavor.

the fact that you can cook them at home and make them taste good. to me, is a sign of a good cook/chef

I watch Rachel Ray a lot. I love her perky attitude while she cooks. She is so much fun to watch. I wish that Rachel was my neighbor. Maybe she would give me samples of her cooking.

Barksdale, I have to agree that Rachael is way over exposed right now and if they don't stop it will burn people out on her. She has a Great approach to cooking, and her recipes don't ususally call for stuff you haven't heard of or ingredients that are too expensive or she will tell you an alternative to that expensive or elusive ingredient. seh makes is feel more fun and relaxing in the kitchen.

Rachael Ray is a love-her or hate-her kind of personality. Millions adore her quirkiness and down-to-earth style. Others, including many celebrity chefs and food writers, heap criticism upon her. Entire blogs are devoted to slamming the self-proclaimed Anti-Martha Stewart.

I don't like her. And to be fair, I can't say I've watched her cooking shows all that much. What left a bad taste in my mouth was her shows on how to eat for $20 a day, where she'd go out and travel to places to meet her goal.
The problem is, she'd stiff the waitstaff or tip them less than 5% just to make her total under $20. It's a bad precedent to show on TV that you're doing this to folks who bust their butts for tips...

I didn't read all the replies, but my complaint about Ray is that she has too many of her own products. I hate when people get into the whole "endorsing" everything on the planet mentality. I don't mind celebrities recommending products that they like, but when you make everything it kind of...I don't know. I loose my faith in you. Kind of like Krusty the Klown on The Simpsons. He has everything from nosehair trimmers to fire alarms with his name on them.
I mean, Rachael Ray has her own crappy brand of dog food now? Give me a break!

Love the show, have to agree with NOCHEF&JUSTLOVESFOOD.YUM (who also stole my idea for my avatar, good one!) but back on track here. I think it would be hard to live with her but maybe her cooking would make up for it, if she does cook at home that is. I have most of her cookbooks and they are awesome. All easy to follow and most recipes taste great! There are just some foods that no matter how you cook it, how hard you try to hide it, I hate.

Good call, never even thought of that. How do you do this to the people in the same industry as you?

I never like that show anyways.

She can get on your nerves at times with her EVOO and Yummo but I really like her. I have made several of her recipe's and have never had one come out bad. She has a regular person appeal IMO and has kinda gotten the rough end of the stick by the culinary world for not being formally trained.

She quickly became a hot celeb with her show.

i saw her show a couple times and liked it. i remeber a tip about mixing a tiny bit of sauce in with the pasta, and then serving the rest on top, rather than mixing it all together in the pot.
i used to get her magazen, but since I only tryed out one recipie in the whole year i had the subscription I decided not to renew.

A few of them have their own mag out.

Martha Stewart, Paula Deen, AND Rachael, to name a few.

The branded cookware that the Food Network has for a number of their celebs is just another form of revenue generation, and I often see it on sale at Kohls because most people will not pay full price for something just because it has a celeb's name on it. I bought my RR enameled cast iron dutch oven for 50% off, only because it was a good deal, not because I thought for a millisecond that it would change my cooking (some people really believe that baloney).

Yes, Kohl's DOES have Food-Network-celebrity merchandise on sale.

And when I bought the Emerilware 10-pc Stainless Steel Cookware Set back in October, '85, I also, didn't think of it because of Emeril, even though I like the guy and he cooks good.

I wanted an extremely durable SS cookware set to replace the faded & dulled Wearever painted aluminum cookware that only lasted for a few years. One that will last for a very long time before it is ever replaced.
