I LOVE pasta too! Besides pizza and my boyfriends korean rice, pasta is my favourite food.

I will post a recipe from you later, I am feeling lazy right now, it is hot out and I think I was close to having heat stroke earlier.

Liketobake's Spaghetti

This recipe is very much in the cooking style of my parents. They are both European but from very different cultures. However it has my own twists. Here it is.:)

Liketobake's Spaghetti
1/2 to 1 package lean groud beef
1 to 2 red peppers
1/2 to 1 onion
1 clove garlic
a few mushrooms (If you like them, I don't)
Dry Parsley
Dry Basil
Dry Dill
Dry Oregano
Salt
Pepper
Spaghetti sauce (the tomato kind)
1/2 to 1 package of spagetti noodles
your choice of parmason feta or chedar to serve with

Prepare vegtables. Fry gound beef until no longer pink. During the process of frying the groud beef add all of the spices and herbs. There are no measurements provided for these because it is personal prererence. I like my food zesty, so I spicy and herb it thoroughly. When the meet is done cooking at the onions and garlic. Once these vegtables are tender and slightly brown add the red pepper and muchrooms. When these are well done add the spaghetti sauce and bring to a boil. Meanwhile cook the noodles in some water with salt and olive oil added to the pot (minimal amount of course). Grate your cheese.
Now everthing is done, so sit down and enjoy your meal!

Liketo bake's herb cheese bread, a good side dish for the spaghetti:)
You will need a bread maker for this, unless you make bread from scratch

Liketo bake's herb cheese bread
2 pound loaf

water 9 to 11 ounces
salt 3/4 teaspoon
all purpose flour 4 cups
dry parsley
dry basil
dry oregano
dry dill
grated chedar or marble chedar cheese
active dry yeast 2 teaspoons

Use the dough ot pizza dough setting on your bread maker

When the dough is done roll it out into a circle slightly smaller then the pan you are using ( I use a pizza pan ). Brush with more olive oil. Sprinke with additional herbs mentioned above (there should be herbs in and on the bread, the same goes for the cheese). Sprinke with cheese. Bake at 350 degrees C until golden.

Enjoy

:)

A few days ago I made lasagna from scratch for the first time ever. It was one of the best lasagnas I have ever tasted. Here is the recipe.

Liketobake’s Lovely Lasagna

1 package ground beef
1 carrot (grated)
1 clove garlic
1 onion
1 red pepper
1-2 stalks celery
1 package lasagna noodles
Some frozen or fresh spinach (amount depends on your preference)
1 package of whole grain lasagna noodles
1 large bowl grated cheddar cheese
(the amounts of all the ingredients to follow is variable depending on your preference)
salt
pepper
parsley (dried)
oregano
basil
dill
hot salsa
ketchup
spaghetti sauce

Prepare vegetables (chop to desired size). On medium to high heat in some extra virgin olive oil fry the ground beef. Once it is nicely browned add all the spices and herbs. Stir well for a couple minutes. Now add your prepared vegetables. Cook until nicely tender and brown. Now add the hot salsa, ketchup, and spaghetti sauce. Bring to a boil for a few minutes. While you are doing this get a large pot out and sprinkle olive oil in it. Fill it with cold water, and add a few shakes of salt to it. Bring to a boil and add the lasagna noodles. Cook or about 8 minutes or until soft (caution do not over cook them though, they will also get baked in the oven so they don’t have to be perfectly soft). Once the noodles are cooked, drain and run over cool water (to make them easy to handle). Now grease a baking pan with olive oil. Now layer the bottom with noodles. Then put a layer of meat mixture on top of this. Now add a layer of cheddar. Repeat whole layering procedure once again. When you are done you should have a layer of noodles on top. Sprinkle cheddar on top of this. Now sprinkle some of your herbs on top of this. Cover your lasagna with tin foil Bake in your preheated oven at 350 degrees, for 30-45 minutes.
Enjoy.

Here is a picture of it when it is done before it is cut. Basically the picture only shows the top, and not the lovely layers. However you get a good view of how cheesey and herby it is.:p
