Of the two types of foods, which one do you have more fun baking, and which one is the easier one for you (if there's any difference)? Generally I enjoy cooking both because I love eating them afterwards, but for me putting on the frosting for cupcakes is the most fun part of it all. :D

I haven’t been able to make either one of those two because we don’t have an oven at home. Having an oven means that you have lots of money here in Asian countries. I’m not one of those fortunate enough.

Well... I prefer cupcakes because they're wonderful, cute, fun, and I love frosting. But I make muffins much more often because they're easier to make healthy.

I think muffins are easier to make because they are easier to get into the pan vs, getting the batter into those cupcake liners...

lol... I can't say how I understand how pouring muffin or cupcake batter into pans is different. The consistency of both kinds of batter is almost exactly the same! I think it's the lack of frosting that makes muffins easier-- and they're healthier in general.

Making muffins is easier, but when they come out of the oven, I do love the cupcakes. (Besides, you get to decorate the cupcakes and that's half the fun)

Cupcakes are moist and can stay a little longer and i like to decorate them.
But i make muffins more because they are easier to make (no mixer needed).

I like muffins because you can add berries, chocolate chips, dried fruit and oats to the mixture. You can also prepare muffin mixture the night before and cook them next day for breakfast.

Sometimes you have to have muffins. Sometimes you have to have cupcakes. Why must I choose one?

Muffins are the best choice. I made cupcakes a few weeks ago, you can see the disasterous outcome on my blog (http://yummy4tum.blogspot.com/), but although I've never made muffins, generally I think they look better and taste better. They are definatly my favourites!!!! Go with the muffins!!!

I like making muffins. I rarely make cupcakes. I'd rather make a cake instead. I think cupcakes are awkward to eat.

I enjoy muffins, since I feel less guilty eating them :)

I made some bluberry muffins last Saturday. They're all gone now.

Just made some banana nut bread today. It tastes good!

Does anyone know where to get the liners for the big muffins or cupcakes? I found the pan but can't find the liners.

I too would love to bake both because i love cup cakes and muffins. But now i don't have stove yet so I just did steamed cup cakes.

I enjoy making muffins, especially if you have to make them at a short notice. Find them easy to make and less fiddly. I also like the idea you can make muffins with what every you have in your store cubbard.

You can always buy the cupcake maker which i call that name, it is easier that way because you will not be concerned that the cupcakes will not be round.

I also enjoy making nuffins, especially blueberry and corn muffins. I want to also make some cocolate chip muffins as well as cranberry orange ones!

This is where the stand mixer really comes in handy and gets a real workout because you don't have to use any muscle power of your own to mix the batter unless you want to. Just try not to overbeat the batter, or the muffins might end up being tough. :o

Here is a recipe that I experimented with for some healthier muffins..turned out VERY good if I might say so myself! :)

1c soy flour
1c blueberries
1/2 c smart balance butter
1/4c soy milk
2teaspoons baking powder
1 1/4 c splenda
1/2 c EggBeaters

DIRECTIONS

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease and flour muffin pans or use paper liners.
2. In a large bowl, cream smart balance and 1 1/4 cup splenda until light and fluffy. Add 1/4 egg beater at a time and mix in.
3. Mix flour, baking powder. Add flour mixture, alternating with soy milk. Mash 1/2 cup berries and stir into batter. Fold in remaining berries.
4. Fill muffin cups garnish with splenda. Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 20 minutes.

They are only about 6 g of fat and 4g of carbs!

^70 Calories? not bad. I unfortunately hate the way Splenda tastes. Does it have a strong soy flavor?
I like muffins because you can pout savory things in them... like cheese, ham and leeks.:D
I also like cup cakes because they can be fun to decorate. Even though you don't have as much variety flavor wise
Question: If you have a white cake batter and decide to put blue berries in it and not frost it what are the chances of someone assuming it is a muffin?

I find that muffins are a bit too dry, and sometimes too big, so I go for cupcakes. :D

I like muffins with tea and cup cakes with coffee...so it is difficult for me to choose one of them. I like both of them equally and I have tried baking both and they have come out nicely.

Cupcakes are just the greatest dessert invention. Small cakes that fit in a cup. You can't beat that

I don't know what to choose. I kinda thought that they're almost the same. Just that cupcakes have some decorations or whipped cream on top or some others...I love them both.

I would consider anything that comes together by the muffin method to be a muffin. I love making chocolate lava muffins, I got the recipe from Alton Brown.
