If you are holding a full time job and want to cook and eat dinner at home, what are some of possible ways of saving time to making cooking a breeze and not a time consuming chore?

I think good planning is very important, I usually prepare my vegetables the night before and I have everything ready so that I can get on with the cooking as soon as I get home. I use my slow cooker quite often so I can leave the food cooking while I am out; meat is very tender when done in a slow cooker. I plan my week so that I have the easiest meals on my busiest days. I sometimes make a double amount and freeze half so that we have some meals in the freezer.

If I’m not available for a day or a week I beg my husband to cook for me a delicious food. Sometimes before I go to work, I cook my dinner.

:p it's sooo easy...just buy a microwave and go to the supermarket...and search for processed foods. I think you can call that a "dinner". It's not very healthy, but hey, nobody died yet! Right? This is the drawback of working and cooking...there is little time for the preparation of food based on fresh ingredients. Maybe your family can help...wife, kids, relatives...even neighbors.

Besides convenience foods and applicances, I guess the trick is proper planning and doing tasks that can be done in advance first. Thanks for the good advice.

Hmm.. this is a bit of a problem for me also. I have a full time job and i have little time to cook. Right now i am working so hard i just have to order some food and be done with it.
I guess that you can cook some food a day earlier, before going to bed or something, and only heat it the next day, that could be a solution..
