I'm not really sure about how long the meat can be stored in the refrigerator. Also do you know the things that influence the storing period...? From what I know, the type of meat, the form it is in and the temperature are the elements that make a difference. I read that the food safety guidelines say that if the temp is 36ºF - 40ºF ... ground meat should only be held 1-2 days before use, solid cuts like streaks and roasts for 2-4 days. Do you guys have other pieces of info ... regarding storing meat?

Storing Meat in Refrigerator

Store each item in a clean sealed container or plastic bag
Keep cooked meat separate from raw meat
Follow the storage and 'use by' instructions for the item
Keep raw meat on a lower shelf so that it cannot drip and contaminate other food.
Cool cooked items quickly before putting them in the fridge
Do not put anything hot in the fridge (as it will raise the temperature and allow bacteria to build up in other foods)

I believe that we could store meat in the freezer in about 3 days because we are doing this for a very long time now and haven’t affected the taste at all. Our freezer is always at its coldest when we try to store some meats.

I eat no meat at all, but my family does, a lot..
They buy more meat at once and they store it in the freezer, never in the fridge. In the freezer, the meat can stay cool for 5-6 months, really.
