Do you make layered cake? Do you prefer apricot layered cake, dates layered cake, quince layered cake?
Do you have a recipe for a delicious layered cake? Share here, please.

If you are a beginner, I wouldn't recommend this cake, it can be a tricky experience. But if you must, just start with a simple two-layer cake. Now about the layer cake: I usually make this cake for birthdays, they're special. I find the layer cake to be a quick and easy recipe, but I've made dozens of them. Now I'm just experimenting...

No, like you said, I'm a beginner and I don't think I'll make the first a complete disaster! :p But I love eating layered cakes so hopefully I'll improve and get a chance to make my own.

Layered cakes are not as hard as you think.
If you are just starting out, use your favorite cake recipe (chocolate, yellow, carrot, etc) or just use a cake mix. Bake the cake in 2 9-inch round pans.
Prepare your favorite frosting or use a prepared one.
Lay one layer of cake onto a serving platter. Tuck some pieces of waxed paper underneath the bottom of the cake so that when you frost the outside of the cake later on, the platter will stay clean.
Frost the top of the cake layer and lay the second on top.
Frost the top and sides of the entire cake. Simple!
Now after you're comfortable with that, you can experiment with different techniques. You can slice each cake to make 4 layers, you can brush a simple syrup onto cake to keep moist, you can use a different filling for the inside and frosting for the outside. And you can decorate the cake with frosting, fruit, etc.
Don't be discouraged. You've got the basics, now just be creative!!
