Where do you buy your food? Do you get everything from the supermarket, or do you use local providers? We have a very good farm shop a few miles away so I get most of my fruit and vegetables from there as well as eggs and some locally produced meat. The quality is better than the supermarket and the price is not much more.

:) I buy my food at the supermarket. I also buy things at the farmer's market, but not that often (meat, especially). I also grow my own vegetables, when possible. My father takes care of them. It's convenient to drive to the supermarket, though.

I buy the fruits and vegetables from the market place because at market these are fresh. Sometimes I buy these from supermarket because it is near my home.
My grandma bring to me fresh vegetables and fruits from his garden every Saturday.

I bought most of the my food stuff from supermart chains. They are rather convenient and the prices are quite reasonable though not the cheapest in town. I guess in this modern times, supermarts are the way to go.

We go to the local grocery store and from time to time we go to the nearest hypermarket. I like shopping a lot (my wife is of course thrilled) and we can buy a lot of things. We like having all kinds of ingredients in the house, so we are always looking for new stuff.

We have a pretty extensive marketplace that isn't very far, but I usually go to the supermarket for all my items. This is because I buy a lot of other stuff so I make one trip instead of two. :)

I usually go to the local supermarket. They have almost everything there.. food, products, clothes.. a lot of things.
Sometimes i do go to the market and search for fresh vegetables or other foods, but not very often.

I buy my food from the supermarket and sometime I buy them from the wet markets. Now if anyone of you are going to ask what is a wet market then I would be explaining it them in details. I know that I have already explained this in another thread.

Farmer's market for day to day food. If I am making something that requires specialty ingrediants, then I will sometimes order online (for certain spices especially).

I have a wide selection, all within a couple miles -- Farmers Market on the weekend for farm produce; Trader Joe's for some organic foods; a new market called "Fresh & Easy) selling pre-packaged organic everything; a regular super market; a discount pack-your-own market; and a bulk purchase store that used to be a wholesaler only.

The big disadvantage.....I can't decide which one to go to so I end up going to several of them and spend way too much $$$.

I buy food from the supermarket. I have one nearby and i just take my car and go shopping. I stuff the car with bags of food and go home :)
I sometimes go to the market too, so I can buy fresh vegetables, but i prefer the supermarket because it is cheaper and everything is there, in my face :)

Conventional grocery store.

But I love farmers' markets and their fresh fruits and vegetables. Grocery stores down here seem to make a killing on their products (inflation isn't helping!) but farmers' markets drive down the price by cutting out the middleman.

I love going to markets for fruit and vegetables while I am here in Turkey. Local farmers bring all their goods freshly picked and most of them organic, so colorful and so enjoyable to spend a day of shopping. Also the market atmosphere is so nice with hustle and bustle and lots going on.
In England however it is so convenient to pop round to your supermarket. I have to travel and find a good farm shop when I return.

Unfortunately I have not found a local farmers market here yet. But I shop Sam's club for meats and paper products, black pepper corns and such. Local Grocery stores for all other things.

I do my weekly grocery shopping at RALEY'S Supermarket here in Grass Valley. It carries a multitude of food items and is my very favorite chain supermarket.

I go mostly to whole foods and there is a fresh produce market which is reasonably priced (and always packed).

I try to seek out good Farm shops and local game & fresh produce outlets, there are quite a lot where I live as it's a rural area. For the rest I shop on line, that way I only buy what I need, and don't get way laid into buying just what I see. Go have a look at my latest blog, it's about saving money when cooking for a group of friends at New Year, (it was our turn) I was amazed when we worked out the cost!
Hope that helps.

Efforts to plug your personal blog and get people to leave this site I find a bit tacky.

Where do you buy your food? Do you get everything from the supermarket, or do you use local providers? We have a very good farm shop a few miles away so I get most of my fruit and vegetables from there as well as eggs and some locally produced meat. The quality is better than the supermarket and the price is not much more.

Here is my tips from my free report on my website. Hopefully helpful..

1. Local farmers market.
Benefits of buying from local farmers market is, you can be talked directly with the farmers and ask whether the organic food they sell is truly organic or not.

2. Groceries delivery.
If you are the super-busy people, there is no problem that you use delivery service for groceries. Make sure you have a food list that you want to buy especially the brand and when it arrive at home, re-check your groceries so that none of the items left to purchase and you do not discard the time to buy goods or forget that behind the purchase. Isn’t the purpose of groceries delivery to save your time in shopping, it is?

3. Health food stores.
Health food sections, for example faux or tofu are often sale or cheaper than meat products. Think to have coupons. Usually, all coupons are for newer products, so you can eat the latest health foods for a few pennies if you have a few good coupons sources.

4. Bulk stores.
In the bulk store, you usually get a cheaper price. I suggest you to buy beans in bulk. You can consider buying anything on sale than clip coupons, but note the quality of the food you buy.

5. Online groceries.
Find websites that can accept food stamps and also anyone can order from them, if the budget is one thing that you consider, you can find groceries sites that have no proof of income.

I usually buy my fruits and vegetables from the local supermarket because they sell fresh fruits everyday. You could also check Whole Foods Market which sell natural and organic products. Whole Foods Market only sells products that meet its self-imposed quality standards for being "natural", which the store defines as: minimally processed foods that are free of hydrogenated fats as well as artificial flavors, colors, sweeteners, preservatives, and many others as listed on their online "Unacceptable Food Ingredients" list.

Ethnic asian markets near my home. One Vietnamese, the other Pinoy. As long as you're willing to cook and eat the wide variety of asian foods they carry, they can't be beat for price. However, if you're looking for a frozen apple pie or hot dog buns, best give it a skip. :)

Shaws' in my neighborhood, but only because I don't have a car. If I had one, I'd go elsewhere.

I shop mostly at grocery stores, and fill in some items from club stores and ALDI. We have a phenomenal farmer's market here but I rarely go.

As much as I can, I try to go to the local farmer's market, but I usually only go about once a month.

I shop at the local Costco for a few certain things like olive oil, almonds, and things I use a lot of.

Usually, I just browse the weekly ads from the nearby grocery stores and try to buy what's on sale.
