It is known that music can set you in a special mood sometimes. My wife uses to turn on the radio in the kitchen and cook. She says it helps her cook a happier meal :)
Do you like to cook in silence or does this technique of listening to music while you work your way in the kitchen help you?

No, I've never cooked while listening to music. I find it quite disturbing and I'm sure it would make me cook a not-so-happy meal... Cooking and listening to music are two different ways of relaxation and I don't find it very enjoyable to combine them.

How funny you actively dislike listening to music while you cook! I like to listen to music while I cook... but what I usually do is listen to audio books! I know it sounds strange, but I love to read, and listening to an audio book while I cook is a way to get a little extra reading in every day.

Me and my boyfriend always cook with music and wine. I find that music can really improve my cooking; I think that it is just because it adds that extra element of enjoyment to the already fun cooking experience. We will put on anything and everything depending on what we are in the mood for.

I enjoy music in the kitchen from time to time.
It makes me fill with energy and it seems like i can cook better.
I have a small radio in my kitchen and i turn it on whenever i cook. It is relaxing and i suddenly don't feel alone in the kitchen anymore :)

I don’t listen to music while I’m cooking. When I am alone, I start to sing a song wich makes me feel better.
I listen to music when I am deprimated or I am sad.

Yes, I sometimes cook with music if I'm in a cheerful mood. I don't believe in the idea that music can set you in a special mood, but I think it can help you concentrate better on certain actions and give you energy. I also find that music can really improve my cooking, although it's only a personal opinion and hasn't been confirmed by anybody.

I have the radio on, but I don't like listening to music, so I listen to my favourite speech based radio station. Sometimes I listen to a talking book, a good murder mystery keeps me occupied while I am cooking or when I am ironing.

Not really. I usually turn on my radio and listen to whatever that is being aired, be it music, news or whatever. Without the radio or some sound source, I find it too quiet for my comfort.

I need to have "noise" when I cook. Even if it's the radio or my favourite songs, I need to listen to something. I tend to get easily distracted and bored and this keeps me entertained while I also take care of the meals.

I love listening to music when i cook! Music and cooking are 2 things that make me very happy so why not enjoy them together. Infact, i cant remember the last time i cooked without a favourite cd on.

I usually turn on the radio or use the mp3 player. I find music to be very important. My favorite album is Tiesto - "In Search of Sunrise 6:Ibiza", it's a very inspirational music while cooking. I just love to cook with Darude - Sandstorm on the background. It really gets me going.

My mom watches the TV while cooking, but I find that very distracting. I love listening to music while I cook, but it has to be a certain type of music. One favorite track for example, is "Banana Pancakes" by Jack Johnson, or "Pina Colada" by Rupert Holmes. I think food-related songs are the best for cooking. ;)
