Wrap the vegetables on a newspaper because it will cause the vegetable to stay fresh longer. This is a common practice on our household that I would like to share everyone her. I think that the vegetables that are wrap is healthier to eat than those ones that aren’t kept the right way.

You can recover the withered vegetables by following next steps:
-cut dry part
-water them;
-wrap them into a towel;
-keep them for 1 hour in the freezer ;
You can keep fresh the radishes If you put the leaves into cold water.

I wrap the vegetables in paper for some years now. It is really a good way to preserve them. This way the seem to be ok for a long time. Sometimes i keep the in the freezer too, but not always.

i see on the food network all the time that rachael ray always has her veggies wrapped in paper towels and in a plastic bag...same concept yeah?
Also i heard that just putting your vegetables in ice water will help spruce them up pretty nicely not to mention shock the color back into them. :)

Doesn't the ink from the paper get on the vegetables when you store them in it? I use the green bags. they do work well for me.

It is also a common practice here to wrap vegies in paper towels and I must agree that it prolong the life of the vegies

I always vacuum seal the veggies, then freeze them.
This method helps keep the air out and away from the veggies, making storage in the freezer an easy job and they stay fresh until you're ready to use them!!

The paper towel thing works--my roommate does it: she puts a few pieces of paper towel in the crisper with the vegetables in the fridge and that seems to preserve them for longer...
Dry the vegetable(they should not be wet or have moisture), wrap them in plastic bag. Vegetable remain fresh.

To be honest I don't like to freeze or store my veggies too long (although I know they still taste good, it's a personal preference).
I usually refrigerate greens and broccoli, keep root veggies and squash in the vegetable rack in the kitchen and tomatoes and avocados in the fruit bowl.
It suits the climate I live in but may not be appropriate for warmer places.

Newspaper may tear off due to moisture, so I use small cloth bags to store vegetables. The cloth will absorb the excess moisture and help retain freshness. I’ve been practicing this for years successfully.
