I found a way to delete the spamming posts & threads that were made by the spammer, Mithunchowdhury, whom I banned earlier. I've weaned out and deleted all of his posts. His spam is all gone now.

Now I work on getting rid of thos spamming messages that the Tourist posted.

Thanx again all, for your questions, comments concerns!!

You've all been very helpful in spotting and reporting spam!! :)

Ok guys, I've also weaned out and deleted all of the Terrorist's posts as well.

You will no longer have to see anything that he posted before he was banned!

IMO, the problem is not Chico (The Tourist, among other synonyms), but those who come on the site with a post or two of nothing except a link to some other site. Their only intent is to promote whatever they can make a buck off, and the only way to get rid of them is stop the practice.

Chico is arrogant, opinionated, and in many cases, obnoxious. But he does not promote other sites, including as far as I know, including his own business. Not defending The Tourist, but I can ignore him.

When I open the site and discover 3 or 4 new threads, all of which are newbies, and all with a link, I don't bother to respond.

I'll explain this once more.

I try to give all of the newbies a chance here when they sign up and need a moderator to finalize their registration and entry into the forum.

It is often hard to tell what a new member will do, unless we can catch the name in time to help us judge what their main intentions are.

For instance, anyone trying to register under the obvious names such as carinsurance301, GetViagra.com, znnews201, handbags101, or even weddingdresses.com, we can automatically & safely assume that those bogus names belong to new members who are planning to spam the board heavily. And quite possibly solicit merchandise through the board.

And while their new memberships are in their infancy and less than 50 posts have been made, and they are spammers, it's easier to delete their posts along with them being banned.

It is when they've written at least 60 or so posts or threads, then it takes time getting rid of the posts.

There is really no easy way to stop a potential spammer unless after having signed up, they begin spamming. Or when their names appear on the registration roster.

One member a while back, started spamming the board heavily! Going by the name, znnews, he was very tenacious and determined to corrupt and spam the bosrd. We kept banning him becasuse we knew that it was him and he kept trying to come back under modified or copycat versions of that name.

Which is why I've asked Tyler to set up the board so that all newbies are screened first to make sure that they are legit before we let them in.

What gets me is that right away after they are allowed in here, they go right to posting spamming links and spamming the board in other ways!! We just have to keep an eye on them as they enter the board.
