Do any of you know what a hypoglycemic attack is? Do you know what exactly causes it? What to do when it occurs?

I'm often told that there are 2 versions of it and that it is spelled two differenjt ways.

Hypoglycemic and herperglycemic distinguishes the two. Hypo is the result of and attack when your blood glucose lever is dangerously low, while hyperglycemic is when your blood glucose level is dangerously high.

In both attacks, it is very critical that you seek immediate medical attention!

I just watched an ep of the TV show, Lincoln Heights. In that episode, Tay, who is a Type 1 diabetic (played by Mishon Ratliff) had went into a hypoglycemic attack. He began sweting profusely in the face, he became weak, as his strength was rapidly draining away fro him, and he was about to pass out. The sister and her boyfriend had to try to get help by getting some orange juice for him to drink, to get his sugar level back up to a normal level.

I've had that kind of attack many times and have had to do something to get my glucose level back up to a normal safe level. As you can tell by now, being a diabetic is very serious and is no joke. If you think that you might have it, you can be tested for it through a simple blood sugar test.

Diabetes is not curable through modern medicine, but it CAN be controlled. The actual cure, so I've been told, is through weight loss. The disease runs in my family, and it is through heritence, though now, top health officials are saying that chilodren who consume high amounts of sugary snacks, drinks and sodas can get it. I lost a dear brother to diabetes & alcoholism.

If you, a friend or a loved one goes into this type of attack, get help immediately. In the case of having an attack that occurs from a glucose level that's too high, the person needs to get to the hospital immediately to get immediate medical attention, so that medical staff can administer help to get your glucose level back down to a normal safe level.

Take heed to these warnings. You life may depend on it!!

And BTW, I carry a few Tootsie Roll Pops with me went I'm out and about, just in case I start to feel sick & weak. These, I've discovered, have gotten me out of danger many times. I just suck on one, and I begin to regain my strength as my glucose level gets better, retuning to a normal safe level!! I STILL have to eat something though, asap to keep from having another attack.
