Just wanted to take a second and introduce myself.
My name is Tim, married with an almost 7 year old daughter and I am 33 years old. I started my love of food with true southern BBQ, as I grew up in North Carolina. Hence the screen name CarolinaQue. However, in the last few years, I have become a full blown foodie and have been creating all kinds of dishes from many different styles.
I am in the Coast Guard, currently stationed in Yorktown, VA. My actual job has nothing to do with food, yet. I actually teach the civil engineering trades of the Coast Guard. Welding, metal fab, plumbing and such.
I plan on attending a culinary program either at night at my next duty station, or waiting and attending one after I retire from the service.
This looks like a good forum full of a lot of good knowledge and personalities.
