Michelin stars seem to be the highes accolade that a restaurant can get in Europe. Are they imporatant and revered elsewhere?

Yes the new stars were recently given out, and a friend of mine received his first, as you can imagine he was really excited!

yeah! Michelin Stars is renowned for being a good source of restaurants and dining locations in Europe.

These are the 3 star Michelin Restaurants in USA except for Joel Robuchon and Alain Ducasse who appear to have lost theirs. :)

Well, I think not all of the restos are that into Michelin Stars. But I guess they are still a good measure of quality.
