Hi...am brand new here and already starting with a question. I have recipe's that call for white wine vinegar...I can't seem to find it anywhere!! What am I missing here??? There's red wine vinegar, balsalmic, distilled white.....everything but white wine vinegar. I did find white cooking wine ...is that the same as white wine vinegar?
Thanks for any help or explanation!!

The cooking wine is definitely not the same as white wine vinegar. The white wine vinegar should be located in the same area as the balsamic and red wine vinegars. Ask someone who works in the supermarket where it is located.

Hi, Luizianna. I congratulate you for your good taste. White wine vinegar should be a personal favourite of any good cook. I've never had trouble finding it at the local supermarket. You should try asking at the general store, too, or perhaps do a search on the internet for online stores that you could order from in your country...

I too congratulate you for looking for White Wine Vinegar. One of my favorites, second only to Malt Vinegar which the Brits (and others) love to put on their fries instead of ketchup.
You have to check out different stores to find it, but you may have to talk to your local store manager to see about getting it. It's worth the effort to have/use since it is much milder than sisters. I even put a couple teaspoons in my water bottle as a refreshing change of taste for my water and its good for you.
I get mine at a local bulk food store called Smart & Final.

I have actually always been able to find it in my local King Soopers; you can probably check with the manager at wherever you normally shop to special order it. I agree with Benton Tarantella and mcnerd: white wine vinegar is a wonderful ingredient to keep in your kitchen.

If you have a recipe for making White Wine vinegar then why don’t you share it with us on the recipe section so that we can all make white wine vinegar? I think that sharing these things are really what this forum needs.
