Any sugestions for meals that are super high energy for those days when sleep is rare? Eating oranges is always a great energy boost, and protein. Any other things that might give you a jolt..?

Do you mean sort of as an instant waker-upper such as coffee? Or do you mean something that will give you a lot of energy for the day such as oatmeal?

I forgot about Oatmeal. I used to eat it all the time... I guess since it's finally Winter here in San Antonio Texas, I can start again!

Energy for the day please.
I was craving oatmeal recently. I have not had it in ages. The only probelm with oatmeal is that it is or can be very sugary. When I eat too much sugar in the morning I feel very ill. I tend to go for the higher protein meals for breakfast when I can. However they can take longer to make.
:p

Have you tried using the instant one the Quaker Oats one... instead of using sugar or cinnamon use honey or just put banana's in it... :)

Yes I love Quaker instant oatmeal. I eat it plain and it never fills me. Even when I have my morning orange. Eating too packages is too much.
I do best with protein in the morning.

I always do best with protein as well. With anything else I just lose energy by mid-morning. I usually have eggs and bacon for breakfast and that will last me until lunchtime.

beside having different juices like orange etc.milk coffee and tea, i think can give the instant energy supply in term of glucose and vitamins.
eat foods that are high in carbohydrate and glucose. Carbs - rice, cereals, pastas...Glucose - sugar, chocolate

Carbs are only helpful for quick energy, I am talking about something more substantial that is good long term energy...
:)

I would have to say that your best bet would be snacks involving raw, unprocessed food such as fresh veggies, fruit, raw nuts like cashews and almonds. Roasted are fine, but make sure they are unsalted.
Oatmeal is a good starter.
Also, try to use turbinado or natural sugar in foods. Refined sugar and flour will reek havoc on your body, greatly affecting your energy over the long term.

if your looking for pure energy, this is a great wake up call.
goji berries are great for real energy. And all the fruit makes for great nutrition.

Your smoothie looks very yummy. However I have never seen goji berries here in Canada where I live...
