Hi All!
My German friend came round with some "Reibe-kuchen" which looks kind of looks like a hash brown... it tasted SO SO SO GOOOOODDDD!!!!!
so heres the recipe..EASY even a teen cooking for the first time could make it.
you will need:
7 large potatoes grated coarsley with a cheese grater
2 eggs, give em a quick whisk if you want of just mix in with rest later
1 1/2 teaspoons of ground nutmeg
salt (however much you like depending on your health requirements. he used a tablespoon!)
3 tablespoons of self raising flour
1 large brown onion grated with the cheese grater also (two if you love onion)
ready?
throw it all in a large mixing bowl... mix until all ingredients are well combined.
put frypan on medium heat, olive oil amount isnt an issue you can always dab them with a paper towel if you use too much
place mix in flat round batches in pan (will need to do a few batches i think with all that) and fry until golden brown on one side.. turn and fry until golden brown on the other side.
serve warm.... ooohhhh yummmm!!!
and they are even nice out of the fridge the next day!
a nice change from mash if you want a new side dish. or have them on there own as a snack
