As we all know, Indian food is spicy and tangy - the more the better! This thread is for all those who are interested in spicy food and Indian food recipes. So chop down those tomatoes and bring out those chillies! Here is just one of these recipes:
Recipe Aunt Prepares: Onion Dry. Preparation Time: 15 Minutes
This recipe is basically something that you can try when you are too bored of having the dal as a gravy dish, and are too tired to prepare some vegetable with gravy dish. Onion in itself is has several benefits for the health of a person, and adding these ingredients make it a crunicher option tod al and other gravies.
Here is the Onion Dry Recipe:
Ingredients:
250 Grams Onions
1 small tomato
A pinch of cumin seeds
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
2 teaspoons coriander powder
1 teaspoon red chilli powder
1 whole green chilli.
Pour four teapsoons of oil in an open pan and let it simmer for a while. When the oil is heated right, put the cumin seeds into the oil. Wait for the seeds to crackle, and then put the onions into the mixture. Let the onions fry for a while. Stir the mixture till the onions get the pinkish brown texture. Then, add the salt and stir for a while. Once that aroma of fried onions waft, add the turmeric powder, the coriander powder, the red chilli powder and the green chili. Remember to dice the chilli. Fry the mixture for a while and then add the diced tomato. Cover the pan with a dish for two minutes. The dish is ready.
