may I add on: eat it soon after preparing it!--it decays/goes bad very quickly, which you can somewhat remedy by keeping an avocado pit to put in the middle of your guacamole dip after it's made. The pit will help preserve the dip for a bit longer, but it will still decay quickly, so serve it soon after making it.

I always add sour cream to my guacamole, I dont know why, but it makes it taste so much better.
so my recipe basically looks like this:
1 tomato
1 avocado
1tablespoon of sour cream
half of the onion
salt

dice up tomatoes and onion, scrape avocado from shell put it in bowl first, then add sour cream and smash it up to make a nice mass. then add tomatoes, onions, and sprinkle with salt to taste. I like a bit more salt so its tasty :-)
It makes a 5 minute snack for one :) enjoy

Both sounds good. I have to try both and see what turns outs. Thanks!

I love avocado dip! I use:

2 to 3 avocados
1 to 2 tomatoes
half of a jalapeno
half of onion
salt
lemon juice or squeezed lemon

dice up onion, tomatoes, and jalapeno. Half avocado and remove seed, scoop out avocado and place in a bowl, them mash it up, then add onions, jalapeno and tomatoes. Sprinkle with salt and add some lemon juice so the avocado don't turn brown. ENJOY

Where's the garlic?

No one puts garlic in their guacamole any more. Shame!!

I use 1 1/2 teaspoon of white vinegar rather than lemon or lime juice. Just make sure the avacadoes are ripe and soft enought to mash easily.
