Serves 2


Ingredients:
1/4 cup green peas shelled
1/2 cup Basmati rice
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cumin seeds
1/2 inch cinnamon stick
1 green cardamom
2 cloves
2 bay leaves

Method:
Wash the rice and keep aside.
In a Cooker, take 3 tbsp oil and put cumin seeds, cloves, cardamom, cinnamon and bay leaves.
After they start spluttering, add the green peas and salt.
After stirring for 5 minutes add rice and mix well. Cook on low flame for 5 minutes.
Now add 1 cup of water and close the lid of the cooker. Wait for 1 whistle.

Turn off the flame and after 10 mins, open the lid of the cooker.
Spread the rice on a tray, so that steam escapes and each rice grain is separate.

Garnish with cilantro leaves.
Serve hot with any curry or dal fry.
