View Full Version : How Do You Snack Healthy?

I'd love to hear everybody's answer to my question.

As for me, I try to stick to healthy snacks like fruits or fiber-rich biscuits or granola bars. If I'm craving for something unhealthy like junk food and sweets, I do indulge but only in small servings. I wouldn't resist it.

What about you guys?

That's good, what raw veggies do you usually eat?

In snacks I usually like to take boiled sprouts with tomatoes and cucumber mixed with some salt, pepper and lime juice.

dried apricots and almonds mixed together has become my standby. I'm on a strict diet and junk food is my downfall!

Raw carrots. If I HAVE to have chips I usually get cheddar rice corn cakes, which are tasty!
Kimchee is a staple too. But high on the sodium side, darn it.

Carrots, cabbage, broccoli and sometimes I make carrot juice. :)

Wasn't that question asked by someone else a while back?

Whatever I feel like?

:D

When I'm in summer mode I'm riding 10-20 miles 2-4 times a week on my bike after work and when I usually get home from riding at around 7:00, finally get a shower and get settled it's later on and I really don't even have much of an appetite for dinner. Riding just takes it out of me.

In that case snacking becomes dinner. I'll fix something that will last several days and if I get hungry I'll fix a small portion for myself.

I usually cut out the bad carbs and unnecessary calories though. I love milk, but putting back a tall glass of even skim can rack up 200 calories according to the jug's label, so it's stuff like that that gets limited more so than usual.

During the last Winter I was a pig though. Managed to maintain the same weight and not gain any though.

Healthy snacks - almonds, walnuts and brazil nuts. Broccoli, carrot and chilli chopped into batons, mixed with soy sauce and sesame seeds. Olives with garlic and chilli. Always pineapple.

That's nice to know Abi. But, I think nuts have fatty food also if I'm not mistaken? :)

Almonds and walnuts; Dried apricot.
And this wonderful broccoli sesame seed salad. Thinly chop raw broccoli, carrot and some red chilli, mix with sesame seeds in a bowl with dark soy sauce. Yummy!
