could you please tell me some innvative dish that can be made with rice.


offcourse, ummmmmmm, 1 red chilli, cored, deseeded and finely chopped
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
1 teaspoon grated root ginger
1 small onion, peeled and finely chopped
1 red pepper, cored, deseeded and diced into small pieces
1 small carrot, peeled and cut into slivers
1 cup small prawns
1 small tin pineapple chunks, drained
2 cups cold cooked rice
2 tablespoons light soy sauce
1 teaspoon curry powder
A pinch of sugar
Oil for frying



all this adds up to a great chinese prawn fried rice, enjoy

I don't know how inovative it is but I like to make a couple of different rice dishes for sides.

basic rice Pilaf

1 tablespoon butter or margarine
1 cup rice (white or brown)
1 3/4 cup chicken broth
1/2 tablespoon chopped fresh rosemary, or 1/2 teaspoon dried
1/2 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves, or 1/2 teaspoon dried
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon black or white pepper
1/8 cup minced dried onion, or 1/4 cup minced fresh onion

in saucepan, toast rice in butter or margarine over medium heat. then add liquid, and all seasonings; cover and simmer for 20 to 25 minutes or until rice is done.

Basic Veggie rice

1 cup rice
1 3/4 cup chicken broth
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon black or white pepper
1 tablespoon butter or margarine
1/3 cup chopped matchstick carrots
1/3 cup minced broccoli

In saucepan heat over medium heat add, butter or margarine and rice; toast rice for a few minutes, then add liquid, seasoning and veggies. cover and simmer until rice is done.

this can be changed to add more seasonings, or different veggies, etc. It's a great base to start with. Good Luck!

I haven't tried adding herbs to rice before, maybe I should give it a try.

Chicken Rice Casserole

Ingredients:
3/4 Cups Wild Long Grain Rice Mix
1/2 Cup Onion Chopped
1/2 Cup Celery Chopped
2 Tablespoons Butter Or Margarine
1 Can Cream Of Mushroom Soup
1/2 Cup Low Fat Sour Cream
1/2 Cup Dry White Wine
1/2 Teaspoon Curry Powder
2 Cups Cubed Cooked Chicken
1 Garlic Clove Minced

Information:
Serving Size 6
310 Calories Per Serving
10 Grams Of Fat

Cooking Directions:
The first step to making this delicious dish is to Cook the rice as the package says. Usually one part to one part. Now in a medium skillet add the butter and saute the onions, minced garlic and celery until glazed over but still crunchy. Gradually stir in condensed cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, dry white wine and curry powder. Now stir in cubed cooked chicken and the cooked rice. mix for 1 minute. Pour all contents into a large baking dish, bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Stir well before serving. Serve warm with white wine.
