By the way, does anyone grow their own basil at home?

I grow my own basil until the first frost hits and it dies.
The only thing I would change about this recipe is using freshly greated paramesan, would make a world of difference.

I agree with samue1eb but I feel that awesomespatula has another agenda and it has nothing to do with food but promoting plastic cheese ( Kraft ). And seriously, who would post a tomato and basil pasta recipe under the pretense of an "amazing" recipe when the tomatoes might be fresh but the cheese is Low Fat....Give me a break !!!

samue1eb.... To grow basil all year round you will need to grow it in a glass house or hot frame during the winter months.

samue1eb,
Thanks for the advice. It’s good to hear that you grow your own basil. HattoriHanzo is correct about growing basil all year round. You can also consider growing your basil on a windowsill. On our site, you can find fact sheets on a wide variety of herbs to help you learn about new crops you may want to include in your collection.

I grow my own basil as well. I would never use fake cheese for anything. I can't even buy that bagged mozzarella. Tastes to fake.

But I make something similar to this. These are great for quick lunches or dinners.
