I have tried different recipes for fortune cookies, but can't seem to get both the taste, crispiness and shape necessary for success! Does anyone have any ideas? I would like to either cook them in a crepe pan or on a griddle instead of in the oven. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! If anyone has made chocolate ones that would be helpful too. They are for my daughter's wedding favors in two weeks--300 guests. THANKS AGAIN!

RitaRose, I know that this si completly off topic for our forum, but cxonsidering the urgency and the quality required how about speciality ones pre-made for you?

You can get any message like a wedding wish etc??

I just can't help making them myself!! Yes, it would be a relief to have someone else do them, but it's just not me! Thanks for trying to help!

I have never prepared fortune cookies because I've never had an occasion to do it. Does anyone know if they can be made with vanilla instead of chocolate? Could somebody reccomend a recipe that he/she has tried and had succes with? Is there anything in particular one should know about preparing them... or about putting the message inside of the cookie?

I don’t know what does a fortune cookie looks like so I’m afraid that I can’t help you with making it. I hope that you can get some great tips on this thread. I wish you good luck on getting some tips here.

Why bother to make them when they are readily available and quite cheap. Honestly I don't think it is worth your effort and time that could be spend in cooking nicer stuff. Good luck and good fortune.

I never had fortune cookies before...
I always see them on tv in movies and shows and especially cartoons (yes, i sometimes watch cartoons :) ) but i never ate one.
I think i should try it sometime. I guess i'll just go buy them, i don't think i'll cook them myself :)
