A couple days ago I had some time to kill before Law & Order started at 2 a.m. As is ritual before watching Law & Order, I make myself a nice bedtime snack, while watching The Daily Show.
I've never made shrimp before, but had an urge to last week, and so here then is what I whipped up:
I've also never used my new non-stick wok yet, so here was a chance :)

I had bought shrimp that were already pre-veined with their heads cut off, but they still had their tails on them, and since I wasn't serving the shrimp with dip or deep frying them, I washed them/defrosted them under cold running water, then took their tails off one by one.

My seasoning for my shrimp was very simple. Just butter and fresh garlic. This was the second time I got to use my garlic press, and oh boy, it was just as fun as the first time.
The garlic, butter, and shrimp smelled great...

While I was working on the shrimp, I took one of my frozen rice balls and got it going in the microwave. This is just one example of just how awesome my rice balls are... and how much time they save...

Exactly 4-minutes and my rice is done.

Here's a close up. This wasn't the best rice ball i've ever made; some of my others actually ended looking even better. Anyhow, the rice is steaming hot, sticky, and oh-so-sexy.

The shrimp finish a few minutes later, and have soaked up most of the butter and garlic...

For later...

Now it's time for some veggies. Here I have some snowpeas, asparagus, bell peppers, brocolli, and spinach.

Ta da! 25-minutes or so later and here I have my snack.

Close up. It was interesting eating the shimp which was cooked in a more "Western" style with the butter and garlic, with the more Asian-cooked veggies. Was very good though, and pretty healthy too ;)
