I saw the same conversation. I wanted to ask this question. You are posting your links in my threads for no reason. Not even participating in my discussion. That's not right I'm sorry

I don't know what to do with him, Mama. He's posted a few recipes, I think.
I'm trying to get him to see the facts, but I'm trying not to have to disipline him in any way.
But like Gary Coleman said recently, if I have to, if I need to. But I'll be patient with him, but if I hear too many complaints about him doing this, then my hands will be tied and I'll have to do something a little bit more drastic.
Looks like he's gong to be keeping you pretty busy Sherm...lol

That's not really a fair question. There's only one type of chicken while you have fresh water fish or salt water fish. You have different types of fish. Sharks, trout, mahi mahi, tuna, salmon, flounder, bass, swordfish, catfish, blow fish, etc...
Plus there's the preparation. You can't eat raw chicken so the only way to cook it is thoroughly. You can eat raw fish, slightly seared and still cold in the middle, or cooked all the way through.

Creek, you're getting things twisted.
Please do not confuse the two. They have different cooking times and temps.
Poultry is cooked to an internal temp of 160 degrees, while fish is cooked to an internal temp of 145 degrees, however they are cooked.

When I cook sashimi grade tuna steaks, the internal temperature comes no where near 145.

I think it might depend on how fast or slow you cook it.
But fish and other sefood is supposed to be cooked to 145 degrees.

But if it's sashimi grade, then you can eat it raw.

Wow! What a jumbled up mess! Geeze! Just wanted to say I am with you Sherm, No raw fish, I don't like sushi. And I don't think I could make a decision on this as I love both, and would never have to be restricted from either.

I see more excellent recipes to prepare for fish. Sea chicken. I don't recommend it but you also can eat chicken raw...I've seen people live off it but I refuse to try that method. To each his own I guess. I like both cooked myself. :)

I only eat fish & seafood cooked.
Why?!?!
The majority of raw fish is flash frozen as part of the process after catching it, so it kills anything that would be in there like cooking would.
Sushi and sashimi have some of the most amazing flavors I've ever experience from meat. I had never tried it until several years ago, but after the first trip I ever made to the sushi bar, I was hooked.

Fish vs Chicken
What do you think fish or chicken?
:confused::confused::confused:
That's a really tough question. I think the fish would win on average because chickens don't swim very well. Everyone knows that some fish have legs, but did you know that a shark species is bipedal like us?

I like eating fish marinaded in curry powder and lemon :)

Which way is that thing evolving, Stormbind? lol

Evolution is the process of random mutations. However, what you see in that picture is not a random mutation. I state this because the features are too remarkable. If that photo is real, it suggests to me that the shark experienced a genetic 'throw-back' or it lost some mutations. In other words, I am making the incredible suggestion that sharks must have a legged ancestor - which is quite alarming!
However, it does not show 5 toes. Furthermore, a two-tailed fish is not an uncommon mutation and so it might be less remarkable than it appears in the photo.
I don't even know that the photo is real. I found it online with a news story about a Philippina who was going to make a fish dinner. Her supersticious Chinese husband warned against using any animal with 'strange features' and so the shark was returned to the fishermen who caught it. They threw it away.
Does it look tasty? :)
... and more importantly, would it beat chicken? :)

For me it is not an either-or choice of fish or fowl. I try to eat a balanced diet and I choose to include both in my diet, along with beef, pork, and lots of vegetables and fruits. Variety is my choice.

I eat both as well but it's an indecisive answer. Which one if you had to choose would you pick? You can't have the cake and eat it too with lots of veggies and fruits.

CreekCorner, that is a false dichotomy, a false choice. I don't have to choose one or the other. Some days I want chicken and some days I have a craving for fish. For some it may be a matter of what they can afford.
I choose to include both in my diet and do not prefer one over the other.

Then you are disqualified from my questionnaire you have no relevance to this matter thank you :D As for me I love my meat if I HAD CHOOSE one and only one it would be Chicken.
Ps both are in my diet as well

If I had choose for the rest of my life, I'd go with fish: a lot more variety and it's lighter and easier to digest, typically faster to cook, and almost always healthy, however it's cooked. I love chicken and it's great too; but for me, it's just not quite as tasty as fish when it's done right.
