I am fond of the red ones. I clean them , put them in ice water. Just like to munch. My Mom used to put the big white ones in with the roast beef like turnips. I also use the tops as "greens".

so far the only thing I can find out about radishes is they are high in vitimin C. and have no fat, no carbs, no protein, and only 1 mg of sodium per each medium radish.

They have a mild mustardy flavour so goes great with beef.
Sliced thinly they add a nice colour and flavour to salad.

They are high in vitamin C and potassium but they do contain carbohydrates. Most of their (minimal) calories are from carbohydrates.
I like them raw or sauteed.

I love, love, love them in salads, on a veggie platter, or really just by themselves with a little bit of salad dressing.

Radishes are suggested as an alternative treatment for a variety of ailments including whooping cough, cancer, coughs, gastric discomfort, liver problems, constipation, dyspepsia, gallbladder problems, arthritis, gallstones, kidney stones and intestinal parasites.
Here's a recipe when you have too many on hand:
Pink Radish Dressing
3/4 cup quartered radishes
2 clove garlic
1 tbsp white vinegar
1 tbsp red wine vinegar
3 tbsp sour cream
1 cup egg based mayonaise
Process radish, garlic and vinegar in food processor until fine. Whisk sour cream and mayo into radish mixture until well blended. Refrigerate.
Yield 2 cup
--------------------------
or perhaps a Radish Chutney?
1/2 cup coarsely chopped tomatoes
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup thinly sliced peeled radishes
1/2 cup firmly packed fresh mint
2 tablespoons coarsely chopped cilantro
1 clove garlic
1-2 fresh cayenne peppers
Place tomato and salt in blender. Let stand for 10 minutes. Add all remaining ingredients. Puree until smooth

Yeah, but do they really work as an alternative treatment for any of those ailments? Radishes are very popular in the salads recipes and not very used in other types of dishes. Radish juice is said to improve health, but I really haven't heard about curing anything...

I don't think anything was said about "curing" anything. Whether they are an effective treatment, I don't know since I don't suffer from any of the stated conditions. Hmmm, maybe that's because I love to eat radishes and their juice.

I also love radishes.
I haven't used them in any recipe until now, i only added some in salads, cold salads, i just chop them and put them in the bowl..
I like them best rough, only washed and that's it. They're really healthy too.
I like radishes very much. they are healthy and tasty.
i love to make salads with radishes. A salat with radishes also looks better, it looks more cheerful :D
