You should try BBQ lamb / beef steak with cumin powder.
Spread out some cumin powder when you marinade the meat, and when you're BBQing, put some on one side, BBQ it, and the other side.
Will make it tastes really good.

Cumin is delicious and definitely in the center of the Indian kitchen. Great tip for the BBQ pier0070, but I find cumin on its own is a bit pungent. Cumin mixed with ground coriander powder however makes garum masala which is the main ingredient to any curry dish; it is also excellent for BBQ meat. You can add two tablespoon of this powder combined with ground chili and 500ml beer. Place lamb or beef into this marinade. Regfirerate overnight the next day you will have a delicious BBQ steaks. The beer tenderizes the meat soaking up the flavors like a sponge...delicious!

Hi Elizabeth. Don't forget that Garam Masala contains more than just cumin and coriander. You will also find ( depending on regional differences ) black pepper corns, cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, caraway and bay leaves to name but a few.

I use Garam Masala in my gravy occasionally when I cook either roast lamb or beef and it tastes great. I also put a pinch of cumin with the mince when I make hamburgers.:)
