Do you cook or bake with seeds of any kind? If so what kinds and in what kinds of meals?

I love all seeds and nuts. I really like flaxseed, I have too many recipes to mention here. In honor of Liketobake, I offer my favorite flaxseed cookie recipe. :)


Flax Cookies


Yields 108 Cookies
Serving Size 2 Cookies

1 1/3 C Butter
1 1/4 C Granulated Sugar
1 1/2 C Lightly Packed Brown Sugar
2 1/3 C Flaxseed
3 Large Eggs
1 1/2 tsp. Vanilla
3 1/2 C All-purpose Flour
1 Tbs. Baking Soda
3 C Oatmeal
• In a bowl, cream butter and sugars; add flaxseed.

• In another bowl, beat eggs and vanilla together. Combine with flax mixture.

• Sift together the flour and soda. Mix in oatmeal and combine with other ingredients.

• Form dough into 1 1/2 inch round logs. Place in freezer and chill.

• Preheat oven to 350° F.

• Slice into 1/4 medallions.

• Place on baking sheet leaving about 2 inches between cookies.

• Bake 13 to 15 minutes.

• Remove from sheet and cool.

I put sunflower seeds in my exotic rices. It makes for a delicious dessert.

I use mainly sesame seeds. on salmon as a top crust pan seared. Then also in aisan recipes as a topper.

Pork Chops in Sour Cream

INGREDIENTS:
4 pork chops, about 3/4-inch thick
1 to 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 cup thinly sliced onion, about 1 medium onion
1/2 teaspoon caraway seeds
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
2/3 cup water
2/3 cup sour cream

PREPARATION:
Directions for pork chops
In a large skillet brown pork chops in vegetable oil. Add onion, caraway seeds, salt, paprika, garlic powder, and water. Cover and simmer over low heat for about 50 minutes, or until pork chops are tender. Transfer pork chops to a warm platter; keep warm. Add sour cream to meat drippings; blend in well. Heat through; do not boil. Spoon sour cream sauce over pork chops.

Pork chop recipe serves 4.

You don't eat any seeds P-Lite? What about pumpkin seeds or sunflower seeds?
