How often do you go shopping and what's your average shopping bill?

For myself, I usually go shopping about twice a month, and spend around $100 each time.

(If you live with others/family you should mention how many)

I live with my brother and his girlfriend. We take turns cooking, so I go shopping probably 3 times a month $100 or so each time. ( Does NOT include the wine bill) :)

Pigsnit goes shopping once a week. Sometimes I go wid him but usually he prefers to go after work, becuz if Im shopping wid him, I put all sorts of *crap* (he calls it *crap* anyway) in the cart. Like while he is picking his baguettes, I load the cart up wid frozen pizza, tater toots, ice cream, rotiseerie chickun, potater crisps, cheez doodles, wintur socks (you can never haf too many wintur socks!), Italian sausage & huge flitches of bacon. Usually he is too embarrassed to return the stuff to the proper aisles (I leave the cart next to him & disappear) so he just buys everything & cusses at me in his head, hahaha! Sometimes the bill goes to 200 quids But he does buy a lot of eggs! :)

When I was in London everything seemed very expensive. I had a 10 dollar (Canadian equivallent milkshake there). Canada seems to be much less expensive then England.

I live with my girlfriend, and our bill is about $100 per week. She tends to buy the higher quality or organic food. That really runs the bill up quickly. Me, I like to spend my money on good wine and steak.

For me, We usually spend for about 80 - 100 dollars for two weeks. We are only 2 but, I'm wondering why a lot of you spend 100 for a week. We usually buy veges, and fish and a little of meat.

I used to spend up to £100 per week (yes liketobake England is expensive). Now I spend £15 per week on an organic fruit and veg box and then probably about another £30 on breads, rice pasta, dairy products and a little meat.

With three of us in the house and quite a lot of things to get the shopping bill does go up to $200 a month. I still think we are under control.

There's just my husband and me, and we spend around €200 every two or three weeks on a 'big shop', topped up with the usual milk, eggs, fresh bread etc. in between. In the summer we grow some of our own vegetables (with varying degrees of success), and my husband goes shore fishing, so that cuts down on expense - plus I enjoy going foraging for wild food (mussels, razor clams, fungi, samphire, wild garlic, that sort of thing) when it's in season - somehow free food tastes just that bit better!

My family of five doesn't spend that much. We don't buy a lot of processed food and rarely
buy expensive meats. We shop sales. I only buy chicken and ground chuck on sale. It freezes great. However I would never freeze a good steak. That does reduce the quality.

I live with my boyfriend and his son, shopping twice a month @ no more than $85 a trip. The child is eating the most.
I am very frugal and can cook a dish out of nothing. Close to none gets in the waste basket.

But do you like eating? Shopping is usually necessary before cooking, unless you go fishing or hunting, I suppose...
