I said in another post, having your forum name and url being two popular words in the search for cooking forums sure can't hurt.

Congratulations on being #1!

Yep! Simple, yet brilliant, naming of a cooking forum! LOL!

Congratulations, Tyler!

Don't know either, but I DESPISE that forum. There ARE other fish in the sea - like THIS one, for instance!

Don't like FoodNetworkFans.com either!

Excellent and congratulations !!. Now the next hurdle is to rid this forum of all the self promoting losers that infest it regularly. I'm sure the monitoring and management of new members with illicit and non cooking links can be managed far more successfully.
Sorry to harp on about this but there are many occasions when a new poster (1 post) has up to 4 links that have NO relevance to a cooking site. Often these posters are still posting weeks later ???

Your call !!

If you have to ask, you did not spend much time there. The list of people banned for disagreeing with the mods is huge, and in their arrogance to make it appear everyone is happy, they do not put "BANNED" under anyone's name who is banned. It's all done behind the scenes to create a facade of some sort of food site Nirvana ( Click here (http://www.discusscooking.com/forums/f153/nyt-rye-bread-51115.html) to see a post of mine without listing me as banned). Some of the members are so tight with the mods that if you disagree with those members, and I'm not talking argue or fight, but if you simply disagree with them or their opinions, you get a PM scolding you for for being a troublemaker, and in short order you get banned. The site is ruled by people with a Napoleon complex of epic proportions, and the owner of the site will not return e-mails when asked to intervene on a banishment. All he cares about is having a "Highly Moderated social networking site," Which means gestapo-like mods. If they could shoot you for infractions, they would like to instead of banning. I'm in there anyway since I have more than one IP address, and they would shit if they knew it.

If you are a member there and want to get banned, just post a picture of spaghetti & meatballs covered in Parmesan cheese, and have the green Kraft cheese bottle in the picture. Your days will be short thereafter, especially if you say it's good stuff. You'll soon learn a whole new meaning to the term "purist."

In memory of my days at DC, here's to fine dining ala the common man (or woman)...

http://www.kansascitymamas.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/kraft-cheese-deal.jpg

One other thing. They pissed me off so bad because of their arrogance, that I went back to all the pictures I had posted, and since they were in my off-site account, I altered them to look like this...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v664/flyfishohio/Food/P1010132.jpg

Needless to say, they had an aneurism over that and disabled all of my images. The posts are still there, sans the pictures. It's funny to read some of the tutorials and not see pictures of what I was describing.

This and other food sites have increased readership and membership because of DC's policies, so there is a silver lining in that cloud.

I'm even surprised that that lousy stinking forum is still even around, much less still up & running! One of the worst forums around!!

Yeah, the least little thing sets those asinine morons for mods off, and they're sending you a very nasty pm, threatening to ban you!
That jery, GB, did that to me once. My response was; "Go ahead. Ban me if you want to, because I could give a crap less!!"

Don't join CokkingLight.com either. I was a member there last summer and in less than a week, they banned me just because I posted posts from a few of the old threads!! Talking about me supposedly digging up drama and causing trouble!! I HATE those forums that are all about blasted drama and being so biased and judgemental!!!!!!

Well, a threat to be banned would actually have been appreciated here.

Ah well.

They clearly aren't as bad over there as you guys make out as I've managed to get banned here, and not even as much as a warning over on DC.

I've had no issues with mods at DC, They have been kind, although a bit heavy handed deleting posts that brought up controversy.

I have had issues with a couple posters, one woman went nuts on me in private messages, a simple misunderstanding about something I said sent her off the deep end and she stopped posting, and she had been there a long time.

I don't get the insinuation about them being pretentious about food, there are plenty of recipes posted over there involving cool whip, jello pudding and cake mixes. Lots of non-scratch recipes.

I actually really like that site. This is a good one too, but just not active enough.

I thought that we put that behind us. Why are you bringing it up again? I had apoligized for that already. If you're going to keep mentioning that, you'll only make yourself feel miserable. Please don't do that.

I won't just forget about things. Who lives that way. Forget the bad remember that good? That's someone wearing rose coloured glasses.

Anywho, I only said it because given what happened I feel your comments about DC are quite unfair on the community. That is all.

I was there, I know.

If you like that forum, then so be it. Others here have stated how they feel about that forum and they were not too happy being there. But you seem to single ME out over what has happened with you here.

I don't want to dwell on that, but you got to move on, because now, excuse me for saying it, but it seems like you're holding a grudge. I'm trying to put this behind us, but you won't let me. I was merely responding to Dough Boy's post.

I singled you out because you were judging them for doing something you didn't even have the courtesy to do to me.

I find it ironic that you should think the way you do about them given the way you treated me.

I'm not holding a grudge, like I said I don't live a life wearing rose coloured glasses, and I won't just forget. But as others have mentioned their issues with DC they have not been hypercritical about it. You on the other hand IMO have.

Stop it, please. Enough is enough! You're just not going to let bygones be bygones, are you? Leave it alone. I don't want to have to put on the moderator hat again.

But you just keep on pushing the envelope on this here. Must I talk to Tyler again? I've already apoligized to you once, but it seems as though you don't want to accept it. You started this mess up in the Osama Binladen thread. Move on. I did.

Let it go, please & stop arguing with me. I asked you nicely. You ARE INDEED carrying a grudge, because you won't stop dwelling in the past.

Please don't make me have to resort to disiplining you again. I don't want to do that.

My feelings about that forum are my true feelings. I felt this way long before you even came here. Deal with it & get over it.
