Hi, I'm a food professional in the Kraft Kitchens. As a busy Mom, I need quick and easy meals as much as anyone.
One of the things that I rely on is making a quick main dish salad. Just start with a bag of salad greens, add either some cooked chicken breast that you prepared yourself OR even easier, precooked chicken from the deli or a package. Add a couple veggies depending on what you have around - grated carrot, cherry tomatoes, chopped cucumber. Serve with your favorite salad dressing.
Got any special ingredient that jazzes up your salad or makes it unique?

I love to add toasted walnuts, pecans or sliced almonds -- spiced nuts are good, too! I enjoy avocado, strawberries, and grated parmesan on my salads also. Be creative and try new things!

I'm not a fan of nuts; for me the necessity to salads are bits of bacon!

mmm, only of thinking makes my mouth water. I love to spice up salads making my own vinagrettes. First, I always mix some olive oil with the exact amount of balsamic vinegar. Then I look around for species or ingredients at hand to add on. For example, add some pre toasted seasame seeds, chopped olive oils, salt and pepper. For a sweet touch, add honey, and chopped strawberries. Or some chopped boiled egg and bacon.

Hello All!
I love salads. Now that summer is on I have been scouring the internet for new salad ideas. What I love in a salad is color and texture. A boring ol garden salad becomes much more interesting when you stuff it with vegetables. I like to add:
celery
broccoili
carrots
cucumber (with peel still on)
peppers
radishes
green onions (chop the whole thing)
avacado
I just love all the crunch and the color. One of my most favorite salads is spinach salad with poppy seed dressing.
Regards,
Amanda

I did the hard boxed salad micro greens last night . You know the clear plastic hard containers that those baby delicate greens (are in) in the market?
Loving salads too and especially this time of year, pretty much everything can and does go in.
I like to "rasp" over the greens many things. Onions/garlic/radishes/Ginger/carrots/cukes.
Hard boiled eggs put through the slicer in "both" directions.
Black and green olives.
Tiny squares of cheese.
Yesterday at the market on sale (2/$5.00) were Oscar Mayer baby rounds of Canadian bacon sliced in good sized bags. So I bought 4 and froze 3. Dice them and in the bowl they go.
Candied walnuts, craisins, mandarin orange segments.
You're only limited by your lack of thought...
