I love these forums, but I notice that very few people return to this site to check for new postings, or reply to anyone out here.

Have you all just gotten bored? I am new to the site as you can see my by my join date. This site is set up very nicely. I guess that is why it surprises me that very few visit daily. Do you visit daily? I look forward to your replies.

I visit cooking forums about 3 times a day. I don't always post though if I have nothing new to say. As you can see I have already posted a fair bit. I enjoy the discussion though..

I don't visit daily. Some days there are no new posts, so it has seemed pointless, until now. You have added many new posts, CookNFool, and I am planning on trying out some of your recipes. The thing is I usually don't cook during the week (my husband does), and I feel I have to plan ahead when I am making something new, so I actually have to think it through in advance. My only issue is, that although the site is nicely laid out, I find it timeconsuming to find the recipes. Maybe we can figure a way around that. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks glad to hear you're going to try some of my recipes. Let me know what you think of them. I would love the feedback.

Maybe they could start a recipes thread that they can cratagorize, for instance main dish recipes, side dish and so on.

I hate to say it but it appears Tyler has abandoned ship. From reading his blog and such I'd assume that he'll come back one day to "revamp" the site, focus on it for a short period of time, and then abandon it again. Not trying to sound mean, ungrateful, or negative, but that appears to be the pattern with his sites. I suppose I am the same way with my websites.

I also think some of the posts were made by paid posters. Folks that get paid to post so many times on new forums. I can't say for certain but the writing and posting style for a few users looks suspicious.

Overall, it could be a great site but without a strong admin team in place to help it grow it won't. New forums take a boat load of work to grow, especially in non-technical categories.

I've gotten pretty busy lately and haven't been able to visit as much as I would like. I really enjoy reading some of these posts. I started up a cooking blog of my own and although I started off good posting recipies just about every day, I've neglected it for about a week now....I'll have to make up for lost time I guess.

Where can I sign up to be a paid poster? I promise you'll start posting up a storm :) Lol j/k.

I'm all in favor in clicking on a few of your ads though. (I'm up to $5 on my blog...whoohoo). Maybe it will give the site a little more revenue and you'll be able to invest more of your time in spam control. It does seem to be a little better lately.

People don't return here because it's boring.

Food boards like Epicurious, Cooking Light, and Chef2Chef get many more new posts every day. DiscussCooking gets hundreds more each day.

Also, there are loads more nonsense posts here, which really bring a site down.

Barksdale, I don't subscribe to those sites, but I do subscribe to Cooking.com Forum and have been a member since it started. It to is VERY busy, and has NO spam. but I have made a couple of friends here and keep coming back to see if we can make this site as interesting as the others.

I really recommend checking out DiscussCooking then.

It's friendly and very knowledgeable and zero spam tolerance.
