Gourmet coffee is prepared from Arabica seeds, but the main point to remember is that the beans should be roasted within the last week only for a great tasting gourmet coffee. :)

Since we have some coffee experts here....

What is the best way to clean to an Espresso machine? I have a Starbucks Barista that has put out some good brew, but lately the flavor is off.

I cleaned the porta-filter and the taste improved, but still not what it use to be. The housing that the filter fits into has a viable coffee patina but it is difficult to clean. What is the best way to bust loose the years of stain?

When I use to work in a cafe we cleaned the expresso machine every day whether we used it or not. It was a few years ago now but this is what I remember about the process. Open the door where the expresso grinds go. Empty out that container and take a damp cloth and clean all of the inside and reach way to the top and get all those grinds out. Then take the cleaning tablet and put it in a compartment (hole) at the top of the machine. Fill the canister with boiling hot water and put that into the tubing where the milk would go (different door). close the door and I think we pressed clean on a button (that part of my memory is vague). It sucks up the whole canister of water and runs through. Then you do it again with another canister of hot water (to rinse out the inside), and run it through. Then you are done. Replase the milk in the door where it comes from and put the tubing in and you are done.

Also remember to clean out your milk container every so often. It worked well for us...
Goodluck

You might be referring to the shower head which is directly above the portafilter. These need cleaning often and are normally secured with one screw in the centre. They are cleaned affectively with detergent and steel wool.

Hope this helps. Unfortunately I don't have much knowledge on your model but if you visit coffeegeek it should be of some use.
