Cake Mixes

Call me a traiter to the baking community, but once in awhile I do make a cake mix. Today I made a marble one. In the past I have sometimes morphed a cake mix into my own creation by adding additional ingredients.

What are your favourite mixes? Do you ever morph them into a unique cake of your own?

A lot of people tend to bag cake mixes but I think they are much better these days than what they used to be. Nothing beats a homemade cake but if you don't have the time or the energy then a cake mix is the next best thing.

I have never tried 'morphing' different cake mixes. Good idea though!!

I usually will do different things each time. Besides the cake mix, I really enjoy the decorating part of it. There you can really let the mind go. You can do a million different things no matter who the cake is for.

I rarely decorate the cakes I make. The people I bake for don't like icing, and I am not that good at making them look "pretty", other then the nice home baked non-iced look.
