A few weeks ago I bought my first pair of metallic tongs (or tongs in general), as I've noticed a lot of chefs on the Food Network use them.

My, my! I know why they use them now! They are extremely versatile and useful - I always think of chopsticks and how asians use chopsticks for everything, even cooking. I purchased a nice pair of tongs at the local Canadian Superstore, which actually has some nice kitchenware.

They are great for frying and stiring...

Definitely pick yourself up a pair if you don't have any already - you'll be glad you did :)

(Boy, I could do an infomercial..)

Mmmmm .. theyre tongs. Theyre for picking up foods that are too hot to pick up wid your bare nekkid fingurs. Youre weird, Tyler.

Next week: STEAK KNIVES! :D

Next step up will be tongs with rubber ends. These are great for using on teflon coated frypans as you won't scratch the pan.

Great tips thanks Jeny. I never thought of how one could protect those frying pans.

Tyler I have had tongs for years. Love them they are great for picking pasta out of water, picking up large quantities of chopped meats and so on from your cutting board etc.. They are a wonderful find.
