I am a well seasoned cook:eek: I am a food service director of a senior meals program where we do 2300-3000 meals a day. I am also a CEPC and teach culinary arts at a college with my emphasis in baking and pastries especially bread. Here because I love to learn new things and I have learned over the years that I can learn new things from the enthusiast cook, student, or professional. Many cool tips, tricks, and recipes out there. the user name is because I live to cut firewood and I also do log chainsaw carvings. Chef because that is what I do.

Welcome, Chef. It will be nice to have another bread baker here. Me and homecook live near each other, and are both bread bakers. As a matter of fact, I was just making myself a couple of slices of sourdough no-knead toast with butter. Care for a slice?

Tonight I will be making a Slovenian fried pastry called Flancati. It's a traditional dessert for Thanksgiving in our family.

Nice looking crumb. How long have you had your starter? What type are you using? Ever try a grape starter?
