My favourite gadget is really...........I mean really sharp knives. The only safe knife is a sharp one. The other things I like are my mini blender which I use for all sorts of things and my vacume sealer which means I can take all the air out and things keep for longer in a smaller space.

I was in a store yesterday and saw Rosle kitchen tools. They were very spendy.
Has anyone ever tried them?

I think I've seen some of those around, but don't remember buying any of them.
But I'm mainly hooked on Oxo products, and have had great success with most of them.

I am in love with my blender! I make blueberry smoothies every morning with it. Sooo delicious. I also really like my one touch can opener. The kids love to use it when opening fruit cans.

I have to say, the best gadget I have ever used was a PacoJet machine in Switzerland. You could make a salmon farce in 5 seconds. Way cool!

My favorite gadget is the fork for without it I could not eat my creations. I could eat without a fork as cave people probably did. But it makes eating food so much tidier. :D

Why ?
Big Daddy's House
08-05-2010, 10:47 AM
Yeah, I like stainless steel pressure cookers as well! I own two. A 6-qt Fagor and a 7-qt Kuhn Rikon. The 6-qt one hisses, while the 7-qt one doesn't.
Aluminum is nice when you first get it, but after a while, it starts losing its luster and shine, becomes dull and unattractive looking!
I had an aluminum one - a Mirro, when I moved into my very first apt.. It dulled rather quickly an it didn't look good any more. That is when I first decided to buy a stainless steel one.

Don't forget that Alzheimer's has a link to aluminum cookware :(

Are you saying the Alzheimer's disease is caused by, or is linked to having aluminum cookware?
Sorry, but I beg to differ. Never heard of it.

I have heard of the link, but it was found in the 70s. Since then, scientists have reversed themselves saying there is no link.

I use an Oregon Scientific BBQ temp guage (http://www.amazon.com/Oregon-Scientific-AW129-Wireless-Thermometer/dp/B0006G2WYK). I love the thing. It has a base unit with a temp probe that you stick into the thickest part of whatever you're cooking. Then, there is a stand-alone, wireless monitor that shows what the set temp is and what the current temp is. When the current temp reaches 10 degrees below set temp, it beeps at you so you can take the food off the grill to rest. Everything I've cooked since getting it has been done to perfection!
I can't say anything bad about it.
I also use it in my toaster oven and regular oven. The temp monitor has a belt clip so you can hang it on your belt while you move around the yard or house.

Do you have shares in Amazon ?No, I don't. I was trying to be helpful by posting a link to the item I am so pleased with. Are you the Walmart greeter who has something sarcastic to say about every person who joins the group?
What exactly is your problem? At only 4 posts, you attack me like a shark in a feeding frenzy. What exactly is your problem with me? I came here to see if I would like this forum and with only four posts, I'm attacked by the resident smart aleck. Explain why you've done this. I've done nothing wrong and yet you treat me as if I have.
My stay here may be vey short if this is the type of person I can expect to meet.
New members to a forum are asked to familiarize themselves with the forum and it's topic areas prior to posting. It would be a great idea for you, PappaL, to familiarize yourself with a new member PRIOR to attacking them for minor actions you find annoying. Your first reply to me has led me to think of you as being an over-bearing, control freak. I would suggest you start using the manners you were no-doubt taught as a youngster. You seem to have forgotten them.
Mods, Admin; Please forgive my above counter-attack, this type of behavior is rare for me and only comes out when unjustly attacked by those who have no right to do so.
As for the link; it's common practice to provide links to items being discussed on a topic driven site such as this. PappaL, if you are so isolated from the net that you are unaware of this, then I would suggest that you get out more and discover why the developers of this forum software added that feature to the selections in the reply format. It's available to be used and I did exactly what it is intended to be used for.

Timothy, please try to avoid diong this, as it only adds fuel to the fire and puts you in danger of being disiplined. I don't want that to happen to either of you. Just a friendly reminder. Thanx.
Pappa, if you have any discrepancies with Timothy, could you please send them to him in a pm to keep it private? Both of you should try to resolve this issue in private.
