I am afraid I can be of little help on this one, as I am almost confused as you are LIKETOBAKE. In the end, it boils down to personnel preference and budget. Cookwear is a lot like knives. Buy a piece or two until you find out what YOU like and then buy the best you can afford. There are places on the web that can help prioritize your purchases by size and type of pan depending on how you cook and how often.

Having said that, I am a big fan of Calphalon and All-Clad:

But, even they have different types of finishes and pans to cover the whole range of customer preference. The last time I bought (last year) I bought Calphalon at an online restaurant supply house. One of my favorite "secret" places to get good quality tools (Chicago Metallic for you bakers) at a great price.

As to the wok, well..... NO electric and if you have an electric stove, no wok. I have found that they just don't have enough heat available to "wok" rather than steam. I still like the old fashioned black, basic steel wok.

I have a good one, but for 1-2 people I usually turn up my electric skillet and just do it.

Hope that helps?? LOL

There are too many to choose from these days but my favourite frypan is my Scanpan. My sister bought it for me and it is is excellent. Nothing sticks to it and everything seems to cook that much better.

Wow sorry I didn't come to this site sooner. I have had a few differnt woks, electric- it's OKAY. a Joyce Chen carbon steel wok-I wouldn't recomend that one as I couldn't keep the rust out of it. I now have a cheapie like 20 dollar one that I bought at Target I think it is nonstick and works Great.

this link will take you to target.com and the woks they have. I have one that looks a lot like the Calphalon ones but is is not Calaphalon
