What shall i cook as a first attempt!

Hi All

I recently joined the forum and have never really cooked anything, im looking for some advice on what to try first! im thinking... jam tarts, those little fairy cakes, flapjacks...

all suggestions and advice appreciated - with difficulty and cost level would be good also!

you seem to be more of a baker so I would suggest a muffin or quick bread recipe as they tend to be more simple. Like this one:
