I have asked this question a few times and am not getting an answer from the posters here. I would really like to know how some are able to post pictures in the posting window. the only option I can find is to attach a link. Can you please tell me how to post the photo and not just a link?

Ok, here I go. I explained this to someone else in a PM, and it is based on having a free Photobucket account at www.photobucket.com. I'm not familiar with other free storage sites, but the format for the HTML syntax is identical.

First, have your Photobucket account open in one window and tour coookingforums.net thread in another window.
Now look below the picture you want to copy and you will see 5 choices. Find the one that starts with , put your cursor on the code and click the mouse. It should look like this... [IMG] http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v664/flyfishohio/Breads/HoneyWholeWheat-1091909.jpg (I have added spaces in the code to prevent it from showing the image) The code should now be highlighted. Then hold down the CTRL key and press the letter C. This is the "cut" in cut & paste.

Now open the window with cookingforums and click your mouse where you want to paste the link. Then hold down the CTRL key and press the letter V. The link should them appear on your screen. CLick on Preview Message and the picture should appear like magic.

The code I referenced above will look like this once the spaces are removed...

This process should be posted as a sticky somewhere for future posters reference.

Alternatively, you can upload the images to CookingForums by clicking on Post a Reply then Manage Attachments and selecting your photo/photos. This will add a link to your photo in your post instead of displaying it directly, but you won't need to host your image at a 3rd-party site if you find that cumbersome.

Just an update, I have now made it so that attached images will now display directly in the post instead of having a link to the image.

This is now a great alternative to those who don't want to upload to a 3rd party site such as photo bucket. The only downside is that the images will display at the bottom of your post, whereas if you upload to a 3rd party site you can choose where to display the image within your post.

Hope you guys and gals enjoy!
