My grandmother passed 2 years ago this August and she use to bake evrything to spoil us.

One of the things I really miss is her chocolate pudding. I use to love eating it when it came right off the stove, still hot.

Can anyone share a good, simple chocolate pudding recipe? I know it will never be as good as grandmas, cause it was grandmas but I need a good homemade pudding. I really miss it.

Please accept my condolences on you grandmother's passing.

I very seldom make chocolate pudding except for the instant one.

Thank you Big Daddy's House, I too make the instant stuff but it is nowhere near as good as the homemade stuff.

I inherited her boxes of recipes but she has some weird short forms for measurement of the ingredients and it makes it hard to know what to use.

I tried to make her chocolate graham wafer pie and it turned out really good, not as good but really good. The filling for that almost tasted like the pudding so maybe I will just try that recipe for the pudding.

You should know that sweets and chocolate contain, amongst sugars, high quantities of fats (butter or margarine, milk, cocoa, fruits, flour), which transform them into complex foods very high in calories and that must be consumed OCCASIONALLY- just for a treat!

You're welcome.

I'll look up some recipes of chocolate pudding, and if I come across one that looks interesting, I'll pass it along to you.

Thanks guys and yes, neatza, these are just for special occasions. I like to keep it that way not just for health reasons but it seems to taste a lot better, I seem to enjoy things better when I don't make them too often.

I get that from my dad.

My mom is a really good cook. There is a local restaurant that makes really good buns, fresh, they make them in an oven right beside the salad bar. ANyways, my mom got the recipe but my dad won't let her make them cause he likes to go to the restaurant to enjoy them. I guess it would ruin the trip to the restaurant if he had them more often at home.

I don't mean to go on, I hope that makes sense to you?

I think that this thread was a request for a chocolate pudding recipe, not a lecture on nutrition!

I don't see how it is your business what the OP eats, or how often they eat it.

Give this recipe a try! I agree real cooked pudding from scratch is something special and not something that you can get from a box of instant pudding mix.

I too miss my grandmother's pudding. It is something very different in taste which I have not tasted in my entire life.
